The invention relates to an apparatus for controlling radiofrequency sensing and audio sensing of a network. The network () comprises a plurality of network devices (), e.g. smart lights, and is adapted to perform radiofrequency sensing and audio sensing utilizing one or more of the network devices. A context parameter providing unit () provides context parameters, wherein the context parameters are indicative of a context in which the radiofrequency sensing and the audio sensing is performed. A controlling unit () controls the radiofrequency sensing and the audio sensing of the network in dependency of each other based on the context parameters. This allows for an improved monitoring of an area.

A system for determining occupancy in an environment is provided. The system includes plurality of sensor bundles, with each bundle including a presence sensor and a motion sensor. The system further includes a controller in communication with each sensor bundle. The controller is configured to designate one of the sensor bundles as presence triggered if persons are present within a field of view of the presence sensor. The controller is further configured to designate one of the sensor bundles as motion triggered if persons are moving within a field of view of the motion sensor. The controller is further configured to determine a triggered bundle count of the sensor bundles which are both presence triggered and motion triggered. The controller is further configured to determine an occupancy count for the environment based upon the triggered bundle count.

The drone detection system includes one or more lighting fixtures, one or more radar sensors to detect a moving object, and one or more controllers. The controllers receive data from the sensors, determine the velocity and velocity change rate of the object over a period of time, and analyze flight data pertaining to the moving object to determine if the object is a drone. The system can determine the starting location of the moving object, and send a signal indicating its starting location. The system can also track the position of the moving object in the outside environment.

A system and method for enabling secure device-to-device (D2D) communication between a plurality of user devices. The method includes providing public and private keys for each of the user devices, the private key arranged to decrypt data encrypted by the corresponding public key. A sender user device creates a digital signature using its private key. The sender double-encrypts a transmission using both the public keys of a recipient user device and a first relay user device. The transmission is transmitted from the sender to the recipient through a plurality of relay user devices. Each relay user device receives the transmission, decrypts a first layer of encryption with its private key, encrypts the transmission with the public key of a subsequent user device; and forwards the data transmission to the subsequent user device. The recipient authenticates the digital signature of the sender using the public key of the sender.

Techniques described herein include an event notification processing platform configured to process large-scale event notifications in relative real time. The platform may receive event notifications from multiple sources and publish them to an event stream, or log. The platform may subsequently process each notification at a processing module according to one or more sets of rules and the processed information may be made available via a data store. Rule sets may be selected based on the type of event received by the platform. A backup data store may record event notifications as they are received or at periodic intervals. Event notification data may also be stored at multiple levels of the platform, so that in the case of a failure of one or more components of the platform, data may continue to be processed.
