An apparatus and method for battery temperature control, the apparatus including a cooling plate, a first transporter selectively moving the cooling plate along a first axis, and a controller operably coupled to the first transporter and selectively outputting a control signal to the first transporter for commanding the first transporter to move the cooling plate to a first location or a second location. The cooling plate comes into contact with an outer surface of the battery by a preset maximum area at the first location, and the cooling plate comes into contact with the outer surface by an area smaller than the maximum area or is separated from the outer surface at the second location.

Apparatus and method for battery temperature control

A battery pack including at least one battery cell; a pack case configured to accommodate the battery cell and having a cooling hole formed therethrough; a flow meter provided at an outer side of the pack case and disposed adjacent to the cooling hole; and an opening and closing unit configured to open or close the cooling hole according to a temperature change inside the pack case.

The inlet duct includes an air inlet disposed to face air channels, which are located in a central region in the arrangement of the air channels, at a location spaced apart therefrom, a cooling fan being installed at the air inlet to introduce the cooling air; and a guide vane composed of a plurality of plate barriers respectively extending obliquely toward the air channels based on the air inlet at a predetermined acute angle to distribute the flow of air.

A battery module assembly includes a battery module and a cooling plate attached to the battery module, wherein the battery module has a first paste injection hole for injecting a thermal paste into the battery module and a first paste discharge hole for discharging the thermal paste out of the battery module, and wherein the cooling plate has a second paste injection hole formed at a location corresponding to the first paste injection hole and a second paste discharge hole for allowing the thermal paste discharged out of the battery module through the first paste discharge hole to be discharged out of the battery module assembly.

According to the present disclosure, there is a cooling device for battery cells including a heat sink with a hollow structure disposed adjacent to at least one side of a battery cell assembly and having a channel formed therein through which a coolant flows, the battery cell assembly including a plurality of battery cells, and a cooling plate configured to carry out heat exchange with the battery cells, the cooling plate including a heat absorbing part interposed between the battery cells such that one surface or both surfaces come into contact with the battery cells, and a heat emitting part extending from the heat absorbing part and exposed to the channel, wherein the heat emitting part includes at least one bent surface arranged parallel to the channel, and at least one through-hole through which the coolant goes.

A secondary battery module according to the present disclosure includes a pouch-type secondary battery including an electrode assembly in which a cathode plate and an anode plate are stacked with a separator interposed between the cathode plate and the anode plate, an electrode tab extending from the electrode assembly, and a pouch case to receive the electrode assembly, including an upper pouch and a lower pouch, and having a coupling hole formed at an outer peripheral area passing through in a vertical direction, and a cooling pin coupled with the pouch-type secondary battery by the coupling hole. According to the present disclosure, there is an effect of fixing a plurality of pouch-type secondary batteries to the cooling pin without a cartridge for holding the pouch-type secondary batteries.
