A fastener tool includes a motor, a drive mechanism connected to the motor and adapted to drive a piston, and a cylinder filled with compressed gas. The piston is accommodated in the cylinder and suitable for a reciprocating motion within the cylinder. The drive mechanism includes a blade fixed to the piston, and a gear coupled to the motor. The gear contains a plurality of teeth adapted to engage with a plurality of lugs on the blade such that a rotation of the gear is transformed to a linear movement of the blade. The drive mechanism further includes a disengagement module which within a period of a rotation cycle of the gear, is configured to prevent one of the plurality of teeth from unintentionally engaging with a misaligned one of the lugs.

A pneumatic tool is provided comprising: a motor; a drive mechanism connected to the motor; a cylinder; the drive mechanism comprising a drive bar connected to a piston, the drive bar adapted to drive the piston in a linear direction; the cylinder filled with high pressure gas; wherein the piston is housed in the cylinder and adapted to reciprocate within the cylinder; the piston is connected to a striking member adapted to strike a workpiece; wherein the drive mechanism further comprises a plurality of latching members adapted to be in contact with and lock the drive bar. The latching structure provided by the present invention has a smaller sliding distance and is safer than conventional drive bar latching structures.

The present invention discloses a method for measuring a mode field diameter (MFD) of a single-mode fiber using an optical integration technique employing a gradually variable aperture. The method transforms, according to Petermann II definition, an integral operation in a formula of an MFD of a single-mode fiber into elementary arithmetic operations to be performed on a mean square value of the numerical aperture of the fiber. By using an optical integrator having a gradually variable aperture, the mean square value of the numerical aperture of the single-mode fiber can be precisely measured by one of the following three methods: translation, rotation and beam splitting, thus accordingly solving the MFD of the test fiber. The aforementioned measurement an MFD of a single-mode fiber is characterized by precision, high speed and convenience, and can be widely applied in various applications, such as measurement standards, automated test equipment, and engineering instruments.
