Provided are an aluminum alloy and a manufacturing method thereof. In the method, aluminum and a master alloy containing a calcium (Ca)-based compound are provided. A melt is prepared, in which the master alloy and the Al are melted. The aluminum alloy may be manufactured by casting the melt.

Aluminum alloy and manufacturing method thereof

Provided are an aluminum alloy and a manufacturing method thereof. In the method, aluminum and a magnesium (Mg) master alloy containing a calcium (Ca)-based compound are provided. A melt is prepared, in which the Mg master alloy and the Al are melted. The aluminum alloy may be manufactured by casting the melt.

A superhydrophobic polymer fabrication is provided. According to one method for preparing a superhydrophobic polymer fabrication, the superhydrophobic polymer fabrication can be fabricated quickly and easily, and the superhydrophobic surface can be repeatedly imprinted using a template, so that mass production of the superhydrophobic polymer fabrication over a large area can be economically implemented.

An ion-conductive composite membrane and a method of manufacturing the same, the membrane including phosphate platelets, a silicon compound, and a Keggin-type oxometalate and/or Keggin-type heteropoly acid, wherein the phosphate platelets are three-dimensionally connected to each other via the silicon compound. An electrolyte membrane having an ion-conductive inorganic membrane or an ion-conductive organic/inorganic composite membrane effectively prevents crossover of liquid fuel without the reduction of ion conductivity in a liquid fuel cell, thereby allowing for the production of fuel cells having excellent performance.

This invention is related to a reactive nanoparticular cyclodextrin derivative useful as a porogen and a low dielectric matrix, with excellent mechanical properties and uniformly distributed nanopores, manufactured by sol-gel reaction of the above reactive cyclodextrin. Furthermore, this invention also is related to an ultralow dielectric film, with uniformly distributed nanopores, a relatively high porosity of 51%, and a relatively low dielectric constant of 1.6, manufactured by thin-filming of the conventional organic or inorganic silicate precursor by using the above reactive nanoparticular cyclodextrin derivative as a porogen.

A novel phosphorescent material containing an iridium metal compound and an organic electroluminescent device using the same are provided. When used for an emissive layer of an organic electroluminescent device, the phosphorescent material offers greater luminescent efficiency and improved driving voltage characteristics, compared to conventional red luminescent materials, and reduces the amount of power consumed in the organic electroluminescent device.

A water soluble semiconductor nanocrystal capable of light emission is provided, including a quantum dot having a selected band gap energy, a layer overcoating the quantum dot, the overcoating layer comprised of a material having a band gap energy greater than that of the quantum dot, and an organic outer layer, the organic layer comprising a compound having a least one linking group for attachment of the compound to the overcoating layer and at least one hydrophilic group space apart from the linking group by a hydrophobic region sufficient to prevent electron charge transfer across the hydrophobic region. The particle size of the nanocrystal core is in the range of about 12&angst; to about 150&angst;, with a deviation of less than 10% in the core. The coated nanocrystal exhibits photoluminescende having quantum yield of greater than 10% in water.

The nanocrystal including a semiconductor nanocrystal core having a selected band gap energy, a shell layer overcoating the core comprised of a semiconductor material having a band gap energy greater than that of the semiconductor nanocrystal, and an outer layer comprised of a molecule having at least one linking group for attachment of the molecule to the overcoating shell layer and at least one hydrophilic group optionally spaced apart from the linking group by a hydrophobic region sufficient to prevent electron charge transfer across the hydrophobic region.
