A connecting tube having a dust sensing function is provided. The connecting tube includes a tube element having a first air flowing passage; a body having a second air flowing passage to communicate with the first air flowing passage; a detecting sensor disposed on the second air flowing passage to detect whether the dust or dirt passes through the second air flowing passage; a lamp part to operate according to a signal outputted from the detecting sensor; a rotating part rotatably disposed on the body; a rotation driving-passage part disposed on the body to draw in an external air into the second air flowing passage and thus to rotate the rotating part; an electric generator connected to the rotating part to generate an electric power; and a muffler part to reduce noises from the rotating part and the flowing air.

A cyclone dust-separating apparatus includes a cyclone unit having air inflow and air outflow parts that separate dust or dirt from air, the cyclone unit being installed such that a longitudinal axis thereof is substantially horizontally arranged; a dust bin joined to a bottom end of the cyclone unit that collects the dust or dirt separated by the cyclone unit, the dust bin installed in such a manner that a longitudinal axis thereof is substantially perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the cyclone unit; a nonporous envelope detachably disposed in the dust bin that stores the dust or dirt collected into the dust bin; and a pressure difference-generating passage to communicate an outlet of the air outflow part and the dust bin with each other so as to allow the nonporous envelope to come in contact with an inner surface of the dust bin by a pressure difference between the dust bin and the air outflow part.

Cyclone dust-separating apparatus of vacuum cleaner

A vacuum cleaner includes a cyclone dust separating unit which includes a cyclone part to separate dust from a dust-laden air drawn from a surface being cleaned using a centrifugal force, a dust collecting part comprising a dust chamber to accommodate the dust separated at the cyclone part, and a compressing part to compress the dust accommodated in the dust chamber. The compressing part includes a driving part to rotatably drive a driving axis, and a compressing plate driven in a substantially perpendicular direction with respect to the driving axis according to the rotation of the driving axis, and to compress the dust accommodated in the dust chamber. As a result, a vacuum cleaner is provided, which requires a minimum space for the installation of a compressing part to compress dust inside the dust collecting part, and provides maximum compressing force of the compressing part.

A vacuum cleaner, in which a dust bag or a cyclone dust collecting apparatus can be selectively mounted, includes a body case having a dust collecting chamber and a connecting hole formed at a side surface of the dust collecting chamber so that outside air enters through the connecting hole, a pair of securing brackets formed on an inner surface of the dust collecting chamber of the body case at both sides of the connecting hole in parallel with each other so that the cyclone dust collecting apparatus or the dust bag is selectively secured to the pair of securing brackets, and a body cover disposed at the body case and being opened and closed in order to open and close the dust collecting chamber.

A dust compressing apparatus of a vacuum cleaner capable of automatically compressing dust or dirt collected in a dust separating unit is disclosed. The dust compressing apparatus includes a compressing plate to compress the dust or dirt collected in the dust separating unit, a moving unit connected to the compressing plate on one side of the dust separating unit to move the compressing plate, an elastic unit to elastically urge the compressing plate to a compressing position where the compressing plate compresses the dust or dirt, and a driving motor to drive the moving unit thus to move the compressing plate.

Dust compressing apparatus of vacuum cleaner

A dust sensing unit for use in a vacuum cleaner, which can detect whether there is dust or dirt on a surface to be cleaned and inform a user of the detected result in cleaning, is disclosed. The dust sensing unit includes a body having an air flowing passage therein to move air laden with dust or dirt drawn in through a suction nozzle, a detecting sensor disposed on the air flowing passage to detect whether the dust or dirt is passing through the air flowing passage, a lamp part to operate according to a signal outputted from the detecting sensor, a rotating part disposed to the body to rotate by air flowing through the air flowing passage, and an electric generator rotated by the rotating part to generate an electric power.
