An aerosol generation device having a differentiated heating function and an aerosol-generating article applied thereto are provided. The aerosol generation device according to some embodiments of the present disclosure may include a housing configured to form an accommodation space for accommodating an aerosol-generating article and a heater part configured to heat the aerosol-generating article accommodated in the accommodation space to generate an aerosol. Here, by including a first heating part configured to heat a first part of the aerosol-generating article from a first distance and a second heating part configured to heat a second part of the aerosol-generating article from a second distance longer than the first distance, the heater part can heat each part of the aerosol-generating article in a differentiated manner.

Provided herein are a vaporizer and an aerosol generation device including the same. The vaporizer according to some embodiments of the present disclosure includes a porous wick configured to absorb an aerosol-generating substrate in a liquid state through a porous body, and a heating element which includes a heating pattern having a planar form that is embedded in the porous body and which is configured to heat the absorbed aerosol-generating substrate by the heating pattern to generate an aerosol. Since the heating pattern is embedded at a predetermined depth from a surface of the porous body, the amount of generated aerosol may be increased, and the risk of damage to the wick and the carbonization phenomenon may be reduced.

The vaporizer according to some embodiments of the present disclosure includes a liquid reservoir configured to store an aerosol-generating substrate in a liquid state, a heating element configured to heat the stored aerosol-generating substrate to generate an aerosol, and a porous wick configured to deliver the stored aerosol-generating substrate to the heating element through a porous body and comprising a coating film formed on at least a part of a plurality of surfaces of the porous body. Since a coating film is formed on a surface not associated with a target transport path for a liquid, the liquid can be intensively transported along the target transport path.

Here, the liquid aerosol-forming substrate may be pushed in a direction toward the porous member due to ultrasonic vibrations of the vibration element, and the pushed liquid may be rapidly vaporized by passing through the plurality of holes. Accordingly, an aerosol can be generated immediately upon a puff.

Ultrasonic-based aerosol generation device and cartridge recognition method thereof

An aerosol generating device measures a current temperature of a heater before power is supplied to the heater that heats an aerosol generating material, and sets a preheating completion parameter, based on the measured current temperature of the heater, and a value of an amount of heat required to be supplied to the aerosol generating material to generate an adequate amount of aerosol. Provided herein is an ultrasonic-based aerosol generation device. The aerosol generation device according to some embodiments of the present disclosure includes a liquid reservoir configured to store an aerosol-forming substrate in a liquid state, a wick configured to absorb the stored aerosol-forming substrate, an ultrasonic vibrator configured to vaporize the absorbed aerosol-forming substrate through ultrasonic waves to generate an aerosol, and a controller configured to control the ultrasonic vibrator. Here, at least a portion of the wick and at least a portion of the ultrasonic vibrator may be implemented to have a flat shape and may be disposed to come in close contact with each other. In this way, a vaporization area may be maximized, and vapor production may be significantly enhanced.
