The speed reduction device includes a transmission mechanism and a self-locking mechanism. The self-locking mechanism includes a fixed member, first and second rotating bodies, and a spring. The second rotating body transmits torque to the output member via a planetary gear mechanism. The spring prevents the brake from driving the motor.

An actuator of an electric parking brake system includes a motor, an output member, and a transmission device. The transmission device includes a housing, a self-locking unit and a transmission unit. The self-locking unit includes a fixed sleeve, and a driving member, a driven member and a lock holder that are rotatable with respect to the sleeve. The lock holder supports lock elements arranged to prevent the driven member from turning unless it is driven by the driving member. A planetary gear unit may be provided as part of the transmission device.

Actuator of electric parking brake system

A self-locking mechanism has a driving member, a driven member, a stationary member, a lock holder and a number of lock elements. The lock holder encircles the driving member and the driven member. The lock holder has a support base and ribs extending from the support base. A lock element is coupled to the axial end portion of each rib. The lock elements are radially positioned between a radially outer surface of the driven member and the inner wall of the stationary member. The distance between the radially outer surface and the inner wall gradually decreases from a center to opposite circumferential sides. The maximum distance between the radially outer surface and the inner wall is greater than the diameter of the lock element, and the minimum distance is less than the diameter of the lock element.

Self-locking mechanism

An actuator for an electric parking brake system has an outer housing. A planetary gear train and an electric motor are disposed in the outer housing. At least one gear connects the motor to the planetary gear train. The planetary gear train comprises a multi-stage planetary gear mechanism. A gear housing accommodates the planetary gear mechanism. The planetary gear train further comprises a centering pin extending through the gear mechanism, such that the planetary gear mechanism rotates about the centering pin. Each stage has a sun gear, a ring gear, a plurality of planet gears meshed with the sun gear and ring gear, and a planet carrier rotatably supporting the planet gears.

Actuator for an electric parking brake system

A torque transmission assembly has a first shaft, a second shaft and a coupling. The coupling has a first connecting member and a second connecting member. The first connecting member is coaxially fixed to the first shaft. The second connecting member is fixed to the second shaft. The first connecting member has a base with a metallic engaging member embedded inside. The engaging member directly connects to the first shaft. A plurality of projecting members is formed on the base. The projecting members extend in the axial direction and are circumferentially spaced. The second connecting member has a main body and a plurality of drive arms radially extending from the main body. The drive arms are sandwiched between corresponding projecting members of the first connecting member so that the first connecting member and the second connecting member rotate together.

Torque transmission assembly and coupling

A torque transmission assembly has a first shaft, a second shaft, and a coupling device. The coupling device includes a first coupling member rotating with the first shaft, and a second coupling member fixed with the second shaft. The first coupling member includes a bottom wall having a mounting face, and a plurality of arms extending axially from the mounting face. The arms are circumferentially spaced from each other with a receiving space defined between each two neighboring arms. The second coupling member includes a main body and a plurality of spaced arms extending radially from an outer periphery of the main body. Each of the arms of the second coupling member is received in a respective receiving space of the first coupling member, thus the first coupling member rotates with the second coupling member.
