A method for driving a display device is performed by the display device. The method includes: displaying a first image including user convenience information through a display panel; generating sensing data corresponding to a fingerprint sensing area by using a photoelectric sensor; and determining whether a sensed fingerprint corresponding to the sensing data is a fake fingerprint by comparing expected sensing light illuminance information based on the first image with sensed light illuminance information of the sensing data. The first image includes a first color pattern in the fingerprint sensing area of the display panel. A fake-determination image pattern includes the first color pattern and a second color pattern different from the first color pattern.

A fingerprint authentication device includes a biometric sensor configured to generate a sensing signal by sensing biometric information, an image processor configured to generate a fingerprint image based on the sensing signal, a singular point determiner circuit configured to select at least one fingerprint piece based on the fingerprint image or the sensing signal, and determine a singular point of the fingerprint image by analyzing the selected at least one fingerprint piece, and an authenticator circuit. The image processor is further configured to extract an interest region including the singular point from the fingerprint image based on a coordinate of the singular point, and the authenticator circuit is configured to perform fingerprint authentication by comparing the interest region with registered fingerprint information.

A fingerprint authentication device includes: a sensor unit configured to output a sensing signal by sensing a fingerprint; an image processing unit configured to generate a fingerprint image based on the sensing signal; a storage unit configured to store a template including an enrolled image; and a learning unit configured to generate a first pseudo image and add the first pseudo image to the template.

Fingerprint authentication device, display device including the same, and method of authenticating fingerprint

A display device includes a display panel and a fingerprint authentication device disposed under the display panel. The fingerprint authentication device includes a sensor device and an optical filter. The sensor device includes a first area and a second area in a plan view and sensing light passing through the display panel. The optical filter is disposed between the display panel and the sensor device, overlaps the first area and does not overlap the second area in the plan view, and blocks the light of a certain wavelength range.

A display device includes: a display panel including display pixels; a light sensor including sensing pixels, the light sensor generating sensing data, based on incident light; an illumination sensor for generating illumination data by sensing an external illumination; and a processing unit for calculating correction data by correcting the sensing data, using the illumination data.
