Provided are techniques generating a data structure, wherein the data structure specifies both a specified size of a memory space to allocate within an application and a virtual address within the application to locate a data path transmission queue; including within a verb for allocating the data path transmission queue the defined data structure; in response to a call of the verb, allocate, within the application, the data path transmission queue of the specified size and at the virtual location; in response to a request to transmit control data, employ a remote direct memory access (RDMA) transmission path; and, in response to a request to transmit data, employ the data path transmission queue rather than an RDMA transmission path.

Remote direct memory access acceleration via hardware context in non-native applciations

A method, system, and computer usable program product for adjusting processor utilization data in polling environments are provided in the illustrative embodiments. An amount of a computing resource consumed during polling performed by the polling application over a predetermined period is received at a processor in a data processing system from a polling application executing in the data processing system. The amount forms a polling amount of the computing resource. Using the polling amount of the computing resource, another amount of the computing resource consumed for performing meaningful task is determined. The other amount forms a work amount of the computing resource. Using the work amount of the computing resource, an adjusted utilization of the computing resource is computed over a utilization interval. The data of the adjusted utilization is saved.

Adjusting processor utilization data in polling environments

A method of providing visibility of Ethernet components to a subnet manager in a converged InfiniBand over Ethernet (IBOE) network. If a port of an IBOE gateway corresponds to one or more InfiniBand devices, the subnet manager sends fabric management packets (FMPs) to discover the InfiniBand network and assigns physical local identifiers (LIDs) to the InfiniBand devices. If a port of the IBOE gateway corresponds to one or more Ethernet devices, the subnet manager sends FMPs to discover the Ethernet network. The subnet manager adds the Ethernet Media Access Control (MAC) addresses of any responding devices to an LID routing table and assigns LIDs to the Ethernet devices. The subnet manager configures one or more virtual Host Channel Adapters (HCAs) corresponding to the one or more Ethernet MAC addresses in the LID routing table.

Providing visibility of Ethernet components to a subnet manager in a converged InfiniBand over Ethernet network

A method of providing a converged InfiniBand over Ethernet (IBOE) network. An IBOE switch receives a data packet. If the data packet is received by the IBOE switch from the InfiniBand network, a translation utility looks up an Ethernet media access control (MAC) address corresponding to an LID of the packet in a translation table. The translation utility generates an Ethernet packet and encapsulates an InfiniBand link layer packet before sending the packet. If the data packet is received by the IBOE switch from the Ethernet network, the translation utility removes the Ethernet header from the packet and looks up a LID corresponding to the MAC address. The translation utility calculates an outbound port number and sends the packet.

Converged infiniband over ethernet network

A system helps a disabled person more fully utilize a swimming pool by transporting the person over the pool water and lowering the person toward the water for entry thereinto. The device uses a base that has a lift platform that is capable of being raised and lowered as well as rotated. The base is at least partially submerged within the pool and has a stairway abutting it. Three separate platforms extend outwardly from the base and rest on the pool deck. Each platform has a rail system thereon which is traversable by a chair that rides on the rail systems. Transition between out rail and another is accomplished at the lift platform which operates similar to a railway roundhouse turntable.

A sun shield uses a canopy that has a plurality of first openings located around its outer periphery and a second centrally located opening. A plurality of first balloons are tethered to the first openings while a second balloon is tethered to a plurality of third openings located about the second opening. Tethers are connected between the first openings and anchors secured to the ground. Clips can be used to secure two canopies together.

A bathing chair gives a user maximum comfort and versatility while using the device. The bathing chair has a rotatable seat with a reclining back member and a reclining leg member attached thereto. A roller assembly attachable to a hand rail prevents the bathing chair from tipping over. Conduits disposed within the seat member and the back member allow warm water to be channeled therethrough in order to provide heating for the user. A waste pan and a cart are removably attachable to the bathing chair.

A system area network computer system architecture is structured as a single system image cluster operating system to offer an opportunity to increase the availability to I/O devices in the system. The computing system comprises a number of processor units coupled to a plurality of input/output (I/O) elements by a routing fabric that provides each of the processor elements with access to any one of the I/O elements. Using a Transparent Network Computing extension to a highly available version of UNIX System V Release 4.2, the system provides a higher degree of availability to I/O devices by providing for the takeover of their controlling entity.
