A bumper beam is made of at least one rolled formed steel sheet containing an upper beam and a lower beam extending in a transversal direction, the upper beam and the lower beam each having a closed cross-section defined by a front wall, a rear wall, an upper wall and a lower wall, the upper wall and the lower wall joining the front wall to the rear wall, each of the front walls of the upper beam and of the lower beam containing a front rib extending transversally and towards the interior of the bumper beam. At least one of the upper wall of the upper beam, the lower wall of the lower beam, the rear wall of the upper beam and the rear wall of the lower beam further containing a rib extending transversally and towards the interior of the bumper beam.

A reinforcement structure containing: at least one elevation reinforcement profile extending along an elevation direction; at least one transversal reinforcement profile extending along a transversal direction, substantially perpendicular to the elevation direction and at least one compartment panel extending against the elevation reinforcement profile and transversal reinforcement profile; and at least one reinforcement member extending along at least part of the elevation reinforcement profile between the elevation reinforcement profile and the compartment panel, the reinforcement member made of a material having a tensile strength greater than the tensile strength of the material forming the elevation reinforcement profile.

A bumper beam made of at least one roll formed steel sheet is described. The bumper beam contains an upper beam and a lower beam extending in a transversal direction, the upper beam and the lower beam each having a closed cross-section defined by a front wall, a rear wall, an upper wall and a lower wall, the upper wall and the lower wall joining the front wall to the rear wall, and a central wall extending between the front walls, the rear walls of the upper beam and of the lower beam forming both the lower wall of the upper beam and the upper wall of the lower beam, the central wall extending in at least two different planes.

The reinforcement member includes a body made of a press hardened steel having a tensile strength greater or equal to 1200 MPa. The body is coated with a zinc-based coating or with an aluminum-based coating and extends along a main direction. The reinforcement member also includes at least one tab extending from the body along a transversal direction forming a non-zero angle with the main direction. The bend between the body and the tab defines an intrados and an extrados. The tab is made of a cold bent part of the body, and the elongation of the extrados is between 10% and 25%.

A longitudinal member is provided. The longitudinal member includes a front end provided with a hinge element for attaching the longitudinal member in an articulated manner to a heavy goods vehicle body, and a rear end including an attachment element for attaching the longitudinal member in a non-permanent manner to the heavy goods vehicle body. The longitudinal member includes a front part extending from the front end to an intermediate area of the longitudinal member and a rear part extending from the intermediate area to the rear end of the longitudinal member. The product (P) of the wall thickness (t) of the front part by the yield strength (Ys) of the material of the front part is greater than the product (P) of the wall thickness (t) of the rear part by the yield strength (Ys) of the material of the rear part.
