An self-actuating grasping device and corresponding method of using the grasping device for retrieving a foreign object from a location in a patient's body. The grasping device has a handle with a self-actuating mechanism, an actuator on the handle coupled to an actuator wire, an elongated shaft member extending distally from the handle with the actuation wire coaxially disposed therein and opposing jaws at a distal end of the elongated shaft member that are coupled to the actuation wire and pivot between open and closed configurations. The self-actuating mechanism has a bias that imparts a closing force to the opposing jaws through the actuation wire. Actuation of the actuator is configured to impart an opening force to the opposing jaws through the actuation wire.

Self-actuating grasping device

A hybrid graft and method for implantation in a blood vessel of a patient is described. The hybrid graft may include a graft portion having proximal and distal ends and an expandable mesh secured to the distal end of the graft portion. The expandable mesh is configured to transition from an insertion to a deployed diameter. The hybrid graft may also include a tubular sleeve having a lumen configured to receive a part of the graft portion and the expandable mesh and a suture cuff positioned adjacent the expandable mesh. During deployment, the distal end of the hybrid graft is inserted through an opening in the blood vessel wall or an end of the vascular graft and expanded from the insertion to the deployed diameter to secure the hybrid graft within the blood vessel or vascular graft. The suture cuff is sutured to the blood vessel or vascular graft.

Vascular and aortic grafts and deployment tool

A vascular graft may be configured to transition from an insertion state to a deployed state. The graft comprising a proximal end having an expandable mesh, a distal end having an expandable mesh, and at least one suture cuff positioned between the proximal and distal ends, wherein each suture cuff comprises additional material relative to the proximal and distal ends that is configured to form when the vascular graft transitions from the insertion state to the deployed state.

Vascular and aortic grafts and deployment tools

A vascular graft deployment tool may include a grip, an elongated mandrel positioned distal of the grip, a vascular graft, at least part of which is disposed coaxially about the mandrel, a sheath configured to be withdrawn proximally that constrains the vascular graft against the mandrel in an insertion diameter and an actuator that is moveable relative to the grip and engages the sheath assembly. A first operation of the actuator causing withdrawal of the sheath to free at least a distal portion of the vascular graft and a repeated operation of the actuator causing further withdrawal of the sheath to free a proximal portion of the vascular graft.

Devices and methods are disclosed for managing and/or treating body tissues obstructing a hollow body lumen, including the prostatic lobe tissues obstructing the urethra, for example conditions including benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), bladder outlet obstruction (BOO), benign prostatic obstruction (BPO) and associated lower urinary tract symptoms (LUTS). A retrieval sheath having an elongated shaft member with at least one region of modified flexibility that is configured compress the implant to a reduced profile for removal from the patient's body.

Devices for the treatment of benign prostatic hyperplasia and related lower urinary tract symptoms

A vascular graft deployment tool may include a grip, an elongated mandrel positioned distal of the grip, a vascular graft, at least part of which is disposed coaxially about the mandrel, a sheath assembly including a distal sheath portion and a proximal sheath potion, wherein the distal sheath portion and the proximal sheath portion are configured to constrain the vascular graft against the mandrel in an insertion diameter and a actuator that is moveable relative to the grip and engages the sheath assembly, wherein operation of the actuator causes at least one of the distal sheath portion and the proximal sheath portion to separate longitudinally to free at least a portion of the vascular graft. Further, a vascular graft is expandable from an insertion state to a deployed state and at least two suture cuffs are located between opposed ends of the vascular graft.

The invention is devices and methods to treat benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) and associated lower urinary tract symptoms infections (LUTS). The devices are intra-urethral implants placed in a patient in need thereof by minimally invasive procedures, preferably under local anesthesia in an office environment. The devices are sized and designed for atraumatic insertion and expansion within the urethra to engage and retract enlarged prostatic tissue proximate to the urethra that is leading to adverse symptoms associated with BPH. The methods include steps to deploy the implant devices of the invention using a delivery system of the invention and at target prostatic tissue that is visualized during the procedure and yields a reduction in the symptoms of BPH.

Implantable devices and methods to treat benign prostate hyperplasia (BPH) and associated lower urinary tract symptoms (LUTS)

An endovascular guide catheter includes a guide tube and a handle. The flexible guide tube has a distal end portion configured to deflect via actuation of a pull wire. The handle is coupled to the guide tube and comprises a steering assembly configured to actuate the pull wire to deflect the distal end portion of the guide tube. The steering assembly can comprise a stationary rack, a gear, a reel, and a slider. The gear engages the rack and the reel is coupled to and configured to rotate with the gear. The pull wire is coupled to the reel such that rotation of the reel causes the pull wire to wind or unwind around the reel. The slider is adapted for translation relative to the rack. Translation of the slider translates the reel relative to the rack and rotation of the gear along the rack rotates the reel.

Guide catheter with steering mechanisms

Devices, systems, and methods for implanting expandable prostheses in the body lumens rely on stapling or anchoring the prostheses with separately introduced fasteners. The prostheses may be self-expanding or balloon expandable, and may include a single lumen or more than one lumen. After initial placement, a stapling system is introduced within the expanded prosthesis to deploy a plurality of fasteners to at least one prosthesis end. The stapling system may apply a force to the prosthesis to modify the shape of the prosthesis to conform to the shape of the vessel wall. The stapling system can be deflected in one or more distinct steerable segments. A lumen extension or lumens may be coupled to the prosthesis to extend the reach of the prosthesis within the implantation site. Fasteners may also be applied to the lumen extensions.

Devices, systems, and methods for endovascular staple and/or prosthesis delivery and implantation

Devices, systems, and methods for implanting prostheses in the body lumens rely on tacking or anchoring the prostheses with separately introduced fasteners. After initial placement, a fastener applier system is introduced within the expanded prostheses to deploy a plurality of fasteners to at least one prosthesis end. The fasteners are usually helical fasteners which are releasably restrained on the fastener driver, and are delivered by rotation of the fastener driver. The fasteners may be applied singly, typically in circumferentially spaced-apart patterns about the interior of at least one end of the prosthesis. A lumen extension or lumens may be coupled to the prosthesis to extend the reach of the prosthesis within the implantation site. Fasteners may also be applied to the lumen extensions.

Endovascular aneurysm devices, systems, and methods

An earphone keeper having a jack clip to attach to an audio jack, several earphone clips to attach to respective speaker housings of a pair of earphones, and securement features that releasably couple the earphone clips to the jack clip, is disclosed. More particularly, an embodiment includes a magnet in the jack clip to magnetically attract soft magnetic inserts in the earphone clips such that the speaker housings are releasably retained at the audio jack and cable portions of the earphones resist tangling. Other embodiments are also described and claimed.

Earphone keeper

An apparatus for deploying a needle within a lumen is provided. The apparatus includes a housing having a threaded bushing radially disposed therein. The bushing rigidly couples with a nose cone having a guide tip disposed at an end opposite the bushing for penetrating an arterial wall of a lumen. During operation, a user incrementally advances the bushing within the housing, thereby incrementally advancing the guide tip into the lumen. The nose cone also includes a flex guide having a slot configuration which couples with the guide tip which deploys into the lumen along with the guide tip.

Catheter deployment device

The invention is directed to a delivery system for delivering a medical device. The delivery system includes an inner member having a proximal end and a distal end. The inner member defines a longitudinal axis between the proximal end and the distal end. A tip is formed at the distal end of the inner member. A bumper is freely disposed on the inner member. The bumper has a proximal end and a distal end. A seat is defined between the tip and the distal end of the bumper. Additionally, a sheath is disposed about the inner member, the sheath having a proximal end and a distal end. The sheath is movable from a first sheath position substantially covering the seat, and a second sheath position axially offset to expose the seat. The invention also includes a handle in contact with the proximal end of the inner member.
