A vaso-occlusive device includes an inner coil made from inner coil wire having a first diameter and formed from a first material, and an outer coil disposed at least partially around the inner coil and made from outer coil wire having a second diameter and formed from a second material. The inner coil has a first pitch and the outer coil has a second pitch. The first diameter, material, and pitch are different from the second diameter, material, and pitch, respectively. In some embodiments, the second diameter is less than the first diameter, the second material is softer than the first material, and the second pitch is more open than the first pitch. In some embodiments, the inner coil extends proximally beyond the outer coil. In one embodiment, a vaso-occlusive device includes an outer coil defining a lumen and an inner coil disposed at least partially in the lumen, wherein the vaso-occlusive device also includes an intermediate layer disposed between the inner coil and the outer coil, wherein the intermediate layer includes a biocompatible metal or a biocompatible, swellable polymer. The vaso-occlusive device may also include a biodegradable coating disposed on the outer surface of the inner coil. In one embodiment, a vaso-occlusive device includes an outer coil and a plurality of inner coils of increasing size each disposed immediately inside of the outer coil or one of the inner coils.

Vaso-occlusive device

A delivery wire assembly for delivery of an occlusive device to a location in a patient's vasculature includes a delivery wire conduit having a proximal tubular portion connected to a distal coil portion, and a conduit lumen extending through the proximal tubular portion and the distal coil portion. The delivery wire assembly also includes a core wire disposed in the conduit lumen and having a distal end coupled to an occlusive device. The distal coil portion of the delivery wire assembly includes a plurality of zones and the plurality of zones decrease in stiffness distally along the length of the distal coil portion of the delivery wire assembly.

A vaso-occlusive delivery system includes a vaso-occlusive coil, delivery wire assembly, and a link. The vaso-occlusive coil defines a coil lumen and has first and second coil windings defining a coil opening therebetween. The delivery wire assembly defines a delivery wire lumen, and includes an electrolytic detachment zone, a delivery wire conduit, and a delivery wire attached to the delivery wire conduit and extending through the delivery wire lumen distal of the delivery wire conduit. The link defines a link lumen and has link body including a proximal end of the link body defines an link opening in communication with the link lumen and a distal end of the link body includes a link detent extending radially from the link body, through the coil opening, securing the link body and the delivery wire assembly to the vaso-occlusive coil.

Vaso-occlusive device delivery system

A delivery wire assembly for delivery of an occlusive device to a location in a patient's vasculature includes a delivery wire conduit having a proximal tubular portion coupled to a distal coil portion, the respective tubular and coil portions defining a conduit lumen. A core wire is disposed in the conduit lumen and having a distal end coupled to an occlusive device, wherein an elongate electrical contact body at least partially seated in the conduit lumen and coupled to a proximal end of the core wire, the electrical contact body and the proximal tubular portion forming a junction. A coil collar is disposed around the electrical contact body near the junction.

This is a device for occluding a space within the body. In particular, the device comprises an expandable member, an inner member and one or more stop elements. The devices may be placed in a desired site within a mammal to facilitate the formation of an occlusion.

Expanding vaso-occlusive device

Disclosed herein are vaso-occlusive devices for forming occluding the vasculature of a patient. More particularly, disclosed herein are vaso-occlusive devices comprising at least one polymer structure and methods of making and using these devices.
