Disclosed are various embodiments for providing extrinsic data relevant to a video content feature. In one embodiment, where a single cast member performs as multiple characters in the video content feature, the extrinsic data may include character images for each character played by the cast member. In another embodiment, where multiple generic images of a cast member are available, a particular generic image is selected to be included in the extrinsic data according to a measure of relevancy of the generic image to the video content feature. In another embodiment, when a generic image of a cast member is unavailable, an image of the cast member in character is included in the extrinsic data.

Providing extrinsic data for video content

Disclosed systems and methods provide media content through an electronic commerce server. In one implementation, a method for providing electronic content is provided. The method includes receiving an order of a user. The order of the user may comprise a request of the user for a physical copy of media content. The commerce server may determine whether to provide to the user an electronic copy of the media content based at least on the order. Further, a request to access the electronic copy of the media content is received from the user. The method further grants the user access to the electronic copy of the media content based at least on the request to access the electronic copy of the media content.

Providing electronic content in association with a request for physical content

A media player user interface on behalf of a user associated with a user account is generated that has a social network module that includes music updates associated with other users to which the user is linked. Media player actions associated with the user occurring in the media player user interface are also captured, updates are generated and provided to social network modules in a media player user interface associated with other linked users.

A current scene in the video content feature is determined. A user interface is rendered on the display, where the user interface includes a timeline component. The timeline component represents the video content feature and visually segments the video content feature into scenes. The current scene may be visually indicated on the timeline component.

The user interface is updated to present additional information regarding the respective cast member corresponding to the selected image.
