One aspect of the present invention relates to a cleaning wipe for picking up diverse debris, such as sand, dust, hair, and food particles. In one aspect, the cleaning wipe comprises a web defining a working surface opposite a second surface, the working surface defining at least a first region having a first degree of loftiness and a first height, a second region having a second degree of loftiness and a second height, and a third region having a third degree of loftiness and a third height. The third region includes an adhesive. The first degree of loftiness is greater than the second degree of loftiness, which is greater than the third degree of loftiness. The first height is greater than the second height, which is greater than the third height.

Cleaning wipe with variable loft working surface

Nonwoven fibrous webs comprise fibers of uniform diameter that vary in morphology along their length. The variation provides longitudinal segments that exhibit distinctive softening characteristics during a bonding operation. Some segments soften under the conditions of the bonding operation and bond to other fibers of the web, and other segments are passive during the bonding operation. Webs as described can be formed by a method that comprises a) extruding filaments of fiber-forming material; b) directing the filaments through a processing chamber in which the filaments are subjected to longitudinal stress; c) subjecting the filaments to turbulent flow conditions after they exit the processing chamber; and d) collecting the processed filaments; the temperature of the filaments being controlled so that at least some of the filaments solidify while in the turbulent field.

Floor cleaning pad

A floor mat includes a rectangular base section that has oppositely spaced edge portions and a planar top surface provided with surface indicia. The base section is formed from durable material to withstand inclement weather conditions. The floor mat further includes a plurality of thermochromic dyes for selectively displaying at least one footprint on the top surface such that the footprint automatically appears and disappears when a temperature of the top surface falls below and above a threshold temperature. A hand-operable actuator is included that has a cavity for holding a selected quantity of fluid therein. The actuator is slidably engageable with the top surface such that the top surface temperature can be regulated by the user.
