The present disclosure provides for a bicomponent fiber that includes a first region formed of a condensation polymer and a second region formed from a polyethylene blend. The polyethylene blend includes (i) an ethylene-based polymer having a density of 0.920 g/cmto 0.970 g/cmand a melt index, I, as determined by ASTM D1238 at 190° C. and 2.16 kg of 0.5 to 150 g/10 minutes; (ii) a maleic anhydride-grafted polyethylene; and (iii) an inorganic Brønsted-Lowry acid having an acid strength pKa value at 25° C. of 1 to 6.5, wherein the polyethylene blend has a 0.03 to 0.5 weight percent of grafted maleic anhydride based on the total weight of the polyethylene blend. The first region is a core region of the bicomponent fiber and the second region is a sheath region of the bicomponent fiber, where the sheath region surrounds the core region.

Bicomponent fiber and polymer composition thereof

Disclosed is a curly fiber having a fiber centroid and comprising a first region having a first centroid and a second region wherein the first region comprises an ethylene/alpha olefin interpolymer composition in an amount of at least 75 weight percent based on total weight of the first region and wherein the ethylene/alpha olefin interpolymer composition is characterized by a low temperature peak and a high temperature peak on an elution profile via improved comonomer composition distribution (ICCD) procedure, and a full width at half maximum of the high temperature peak is less than 6.0° C. and the second region is a material comprising a polymer which is different from the ethylene/alpha-olefin interpolymer of the first region and wherein the regions are arranged such that at least one of the first centroid and the second centroid is not the same as the fiber centroid.

A process comprising forming fibers having at least a first region and a second region wherein the first region comprises an ethylene/alpha olefin interpolymer composition characterized by: density in the range of 0.930 to 0.965 g/cm; melt index (I2) in the range of from 10 to 60 g/10 minutes; molecular weight distribution in the range of from 1.5 to 2.6; tan delta at 1 radian/second of at least 45; a low temperature peak and a high temperature peak on an elution profile via improved comonomer composition distribution (ICCD) procedure; and full width at half maximum of the high temperature peak is less than 6.0° C. and stretching the fibers to an elongation of at least 20% thereby increasing curl of the fiber. The process may further include forming a non-woven from the fibers and the stretching of the fibers may occur before or after forming of the non-woven.

Method of manufacture of curly fibers

Compositions are provided that comprise: (1) a polymer selected from the group consisting of: (A) an ethylene/&#x3b1;-olefin multiblock interpolymer; (B) a propylene based plastomer or elastomer; and (C) a mixture of (A) and (B); (2) from about 1 to about 75 weight percent filler based on the weight of the composition; and (3) an effective amount of tackifier.

Ethylene polymer blends and oriented articles with improved shrink resistance

A multilayer nonwoven structure is described where the nonwoven structure comprises at least two spun bond layers and at least one easily meltable layer. The easily meltable layer is located between the at least two spunbond layers. The easily meltable layer is comprised of a polymer having a melting point at least 20&#xb0; C. less than the melting point of the polymer which comprises the surface of the fibers which comprise the spun bond layer, or is made from a polymer which is readily absorbs some form of radiation. Under bonding conditions, the fibers which make up the easily meltable layer can be melted to form a film, thereby improving bather properties of the nonwoven structure.

Filmless backsheets with good barrier properties

The present disclosure provides a container for dispensing a liquid from the container. The container includes a flexible body having a closed top and an open bottom and a base attached to the open bottom of the body. The body and base define a chamber for holding a liquid. The base includes a floor and a peripheral rim extending below the floor. A nozzle extends from the floor. A closure slidingly engages with the nozzle. The closure includes a panel-cap having an aperture through which the liquid is dispensed.

Dispensing container and method

The present disclosure provides a flexible pouch for bottom-dispensing a liquid. A dock for holding the flexible pouch is also provided. Further disclosed herein is a system for dispensing a liquid. The system includes the pouch for placement in the dock.

The present disclosure provides a pouch for holding a fresh produce item and a method. The pouch includes (A) a body composed of at least one flexible multilayer film having a haze value less than 20%. The body further includes a front wall, a rear wall, and a gusset panel that form a closed chamber. (B) The gusset panel includes a rim. (C) A fresh produce item is located in the closed chamber. (D) The pouch has a chamber-to-rim ratio (mm) from 6:1 to 200:1. At least a portion of at least one wall is transparent permitting a person to see the fresh produce item in the pouch. The method includes displaying the fresh produce item through at least one of the front wall or the rear wall at a chamber-to-rim ratio from 6:1 to 200:1.

Pouch for fresh produce item and method

The present disclosure provides a dispenser for dispensing flexible sheets. The dispenser includes (A) a pouch composed of at least one flexible multilayer film. The pouch includes (i) a front wall joined to a rear wall along a top seal and a bottom seal and (ii) a first sidewall and an opposing second sidewall. Each sidewall is joined to the front wall and the rear wall with a respective first side seal and a second side seal. The pouch also includes (iii) a flap above the pouch that is joined to the pouch along the top seal. The dispenser also includes (B) a roll of continuous flexible sheets in an interior of the pouch. The dispenser further includes (C) a slot along the front wall through which the flexible sheets are removed from the pouch.

Carbonate blend composition having improved resistance to environmental stress cracking

Provided is an artificial turf yarn having improved heat resistance, durability, softness and extensibility. The artificial turf yarn contains two components: an olefin block copolymer (OBC) and a linear low density polyethylene (LLDPE). The yarn includes from about 10 wt % to about 80 wt % of the OBC and from about 20 wt % to about 90 wt % of the LLDPE which produces an artificial turf yarn with improved softness and toughness while maintaining heat resistance.
