A display device including a display panel having a first area, a second area, and a plurality of pixels to provide an image during a frame period, and a touch panel including a first touch part including first and second touch coils insulated from each other, and a second touch part including first touch electrodes and second touch electrodes insulated each other, in which corresponding second scan signals are applied to the first touch electrodes disposed in the first area when corresponding first scan signals are applied to the first touch coils disposed in the second area during a first period of the frame period, the second touch coils are configured to provide first sensing signals according to a resonant frequency of an input device, and the second touch electrodes are configured to provide second sensing signals according to a variation in a capacitance.

Display device and method of driving the same in two modes

A display device includes a display panel and a touch panel. The touch panel calculates coordinate information of an input position by an electrostatic capacitive method in a first mode and calculates the coordinate information of the input position by an electromagnetic induction method in a second mode. The touch panel includes scan line groups and source line groups, which are operated as touch electrodes or touch coils on the basis of the operating mode thereof. In addition, the touch panel includes touch electrodes and touch coils, which are individually operated on the basis of the operating mode thereof.

An electronic device includes a display device including a display panel, a touch panel, and a touch sensing circuit configured to sense a touch input. The electronic device also includes an input pen configured to provide, to the touch sensing circuit, information on intensity of pressure applied to the display device. The touch panel includes touch pressure sensors and signal lines connected to the touch pressure sensors. Each touch pressure sensor has an area per unit length that increases along an extended direction of each touch pressure sensor. Each touch pressure sensor has a resistance that varies with an intensity of pressure and an area of pressure applied to the touch pressure sensors.

Electronic device and method of driving same

A display panel includes signal wires arranged in an active area, connection wires arranged in a non-display area adjacent to the active area electrically connected to the plurality of signal wires, and panel pads in the non-display area that are electrically connected to the plurality of connection wires. The panel pads include a first panel pad row arranged in a first direction, a second panel pad row arranged in the first direction, and a gap between the first panel pad row and the second panel pad row along the first direction. The first panel pad row and the second panel pad row include extended panel pads extended toward an adjacent panel pad row so as to reduce a swelled region in the gap.

Display panel and display device including display panel

A display device includes a first pixel electrode corresponding to a first pixel area. The display device further includes a transistor electrically connected to the first pixel electrode. The display device further includes a plurality of gate lines extending in a first direction and including a first gate line, the first gate line being electrically connected to the transistor and being configured to transmit a first gate signal for controlling the transistor. The display device further includes a plurality of first-type sensors including a first first-type sensor, the first first-type sensor being configured to provide a first output signal according to at least the first gate signal. The display device further includes a processing part electrically connected to the first first-type sensor and configured to use the first output signal for determining a first coordinate value associated with a touch applied on the display device.

Display device

A display device includes a first display substrate, which provides an input surface and includes a blocking area and a plurality of opening areas, and first and second touch sensors disposed in the blocking area. The first touch sensors receive different scan signals according to an operation mode thereof. The second touch sensors output first sensing signals on the basis of a variation in capacitance in a first operation mode and output second sensing signals according to a resonant frequency of an input device in a second operation mode.

A display apparatus includes a display panel that displays an image during a display period and detects a touch event during a non-display period. The display panel includes a plurality of common electrodes and a plurality of data lines capacitively coupled to the common electrodes during the non-display period. Coordinate information of a position at which the touch event occurs is calculated on the basis of a capacitance variation of the common electrodes and the data lines.
