Parallax barrier device and fabricating method thereof

A liquid crystal backlight device and a method for controlling the same are applied to a liquid crystal display apparatus, in which a backlight module is disposed behind a liquid crystal panel to illuminate the panel. The backlight device produces stable illumination to solve the hold type problem due to the hold-type effect of liquid crystal occurred in the prior art. The control method is used to acquire a stable display time from the liquid crystal characteristics and then process the scan signal to match the display data. Controls of the backlight activation signal, including on/off, time delay, and duty cycle adjustment, are then performed to generate a pulse-width modulated signal and a brightness modulated signal so as to produce stable backlight illumination effect. A better display effect can therefore be accomplished.

Liquid crystal backlight device and method for controlling the same

A device and method for adjusting backlight brightness employed in a display. The device has a buffer, a counter, and a comparator. The buffer receives and stores an image data of a frame. The counter receives the image data and obtains an image-loading value of the image data. The comparator is coupled to the counter and compares the image-loading value with a preset image-loading value. The comparator outputs a control signal indicating the comparison result to a backlight module to adjust the brightness of the backlight module.

A method for automatic adjusting brightness includes receiving pixel information. The pixel information are analyzed to obtain an image load. The image load is compared with a predetermined range. If the image load is less than the range, then a display duty cycle is set to be an upper limit. If the image load is greater than the range, then the display duty cycle is set to be a lower limit. If the image load is in the range, then the display duty cycle is set to an operation quantity between the upper limit and the lower limit, according to a current image load. Further, according to the changing of display duty cycle, two ranges are set to have the hysteresis effect.

The dynamic blinking backlight control method for dynamically controlling the lighting status of the backlights of the display panel includes the following steps. First, the motion condition of a frame to be displayed on the display panel is detected for obtaining a motion detection result. The scanning frequency is determined in accordance with the motion detection result. Also, the lighting status of the backlights is controlled sequentially and respectively in accordance with the determined scanning frequency.

The control circuit is electrically connected to the display unit and the light source respectively. A driving apparatus for driving a plasma display panel and a method of driving the same are disclosed. The plasma display panel includes multiple display cells, with each of the display cells comprising a sustain electrode, a scan electrode, and a data electrode. Every set of the electrodes has a corresponding driving circuit to provide a required driving waveform for driving the display cell to luminesce. The driving method includes the following steps: first, a first erase pulse, a priming pulse, and a second erase pulse are applied in sequence during a reset period. Then, data pulses corresponding to the display cells are applied during an address period. Lastly, multiple sustain pulses and multiple high frequency driving pulses are applied simultaneously during a sustain period.

A plasma display panel includes a rear plate, a front plate formed parallel with and spaced apart from the rear plate, a plurality of electrode pairs, and a plurality of data electrodes. Each electrode pair includes a first transparent electrode and a second transparent electrode formed in parallel on a bottom surface of the front plate. Each data electrode is formed in parallel on a top surface of the rear plate and is orthogonal to each electrode pair. A plurality of display cells is defined at an intersection of each data electrode and each electrode pair. A plasma display panel (PDP) having a priming electrode is disclosed. The PDP has a first substrate and a second substrate, wherein the second substrate is opposite to the first substrate. The space between the first substrate and the second substrate is defined as a discharge space and is filled with a discharge gas. A sustaining electrode, a scanning electrode and a priming electrode are all positioned on the first substrate along a first direction. An address electrode is positioned on the second substrate perpendicularly with the first direction. The priming electrode outputs a first priming pulse so as to excite the discharge gas and to produce a plurality of discharge ions.

Method for driving a plasma display panel

A method for compensating luminance, suitable for use in a plasma display panel. The method includes the following steps. First, the luminance value of each pixel signal is read out. Then, the load of the pixel signal row is computed. The load is the number of pixel signal in the pixel signal row that the luminance value of the pixel signal is larger than a predetermined threshold luminance value. Then, a primary luminance compensation value is decided according to the load of the pixel signal row. A number of secondary luminance compensation values are decided according to the primary luminance compensation value. Afterwards, each pixel signal in the pixel signal row is performed luminance compensation sequentially. If the luminance value is larger than or equal to a low threshold luminance value, the luminance value is subtracted by the primary luminance compensation value. If the luminance value is less than the low threshold luminance value, the luminance value is subtracted by the corresponding secondary luminance compensation value. Finally, the compensated pixel signal row is outputted.
