A method, a network device, and a non-transitory computer-readable storage medium are described in relation to an MIMO selection service. The MIMO selection service may include calculating MIMO configurations that include a number of layers for each MIMO configuration pertaining to a group of end devices; and identifying performance metric sensitive end devices of the group. The MIMO selection service may further include selecting for each performance metric sensitive end device, a first MIMO configuration from the MIMO configurations that has a higher number of layers relative to one or more other MIMO configurations of the MIMO configurations; and selecting for each non-performance metric sensitive end device of the group, a second MIMO configuration from the MIMO configurations that combined with the first MIMO configuration yield a highest spectral efficiency.

The service may configure network slices at a cell level which may include carrier frequencies or bands that may be ranked in terms of preference for a network slice. The service may include executing an application session release procedure and an application session establishment procedure. The procedures may include using cause data and context data pertaining to the initial application session to re-establish the application session via a different network slice and a different radio frequency based on the route selection policies.

A device can determine, based on a first packet flow associated with a first user device and application identifiers associated with applications accessible by the first user device, that a first packet associated with the first packet flow is destined for a low-latency application having a specified latency range. A network device may select a first user plane function for establishing, with a user equipment, a protocol data unit session with a single flow and may receive an application function trigger associated with a first new flow for a first application of the user equipment. A system includes a first wireless station and a second wireless station. The second wireless station is at least partially within a coverage area of the first wireless station and provides a third spectrum for the second cellular wireless standard. The third spectrum is a millimeter wave (mmWave) spectrum. The first wireless station broadcasts a parameter barring an end device in an idle mode from camping on the second spectrum. The first wireless station or the second wireless station triggers the end device to swap to the second spectrum when a paging request for a voice call is received.

A network device receives, from a user equipment (UE), a Next Generation Mobile network attach request, wherein the Next Generation Mobile network attach request includes a Voice over Long Term Evolution (VoLTE) network attach request. The RAN-CN network slice pairing information may include location information, radio access network slice information, core network slice information correlated to different types or applications or services available to end devices. The RAN-CN network slice pairing information may include information indicating current and available radio access network resources pertaining to the radio access network slices and threshold resources that may be used to support the different types of applications or services.

A wireless station of a radio access network receives a reselection priority value of a frequency band used when the wireless station is an E-UTRA-NR Dual Connectivity (EN-DC) anchor. The wireless station broadcasts an intra-frequency system information block (SIB) that includes a first Cell Reselection Priority information element (IE) and a first Anchor-cell Reselection Priority IE, wherein the first Anchor-cell Reselection Priority IE includes the reselection priority value of the frequency band used by the wireless station. The wireless station also broadcast an inter-frequency SIB that includes a second Cell Reselection Priority IE and a second Anchor-cell Reselection Priority IE, wherein the second Anchor-cell Reselection Priority IE includes another reselection priority value of another frequency band for another EN-DC anchor. Use of additional anchor-cell priorities enable EN-DC-capable end devices to camp on an anchor cell even when a non-anchor cell has a higher conventional priority than the anchor cell.
