This present disclosure increases the interconnect density by using a different technology approach than the industry is currently using (stamping and molding). By using a MEMS-based technology approach, better geometry and impedance control can be carried out to reduce impedance discontinuities and feature size. Additional concepts include low connector insertion force, no contact wiping, and a precise alignment mechanism between the connector contacts and those on the mating substrate.

An interconnection system is configured to be carried by a substrate and includes a cage that is configured to be connected to the substrate, that includes a first end and a second end opposed to the first end, and that is configured to receive an interconnection module; and an electrical connector located at the second end of the cage. The electrical connector includes a fixed connector that is configured to be rigidly attached to the substrate and a detachable connector that is configured to be mated and unmated from the fixed connector.

A data communication system can include a low-profile electrical connector that is sized to be mounted onto a PCB in a gap between the PCB and a heat sink that overhangs from an IC that is mounted to the PCB. The data communication system further includes an electrical cable that extends from the electrical connector to an optical transceiver. A cable management laminate can route the electrical cables along a predetermined path. The data communication system can be disposed in a system tray that is configured to force air over the heat sink. The airflow over the heat sink can be adjustable.

The present disclosure relates to devices, systems and methods providing evaluation and feedback to an operator of a device providing neuromodulation treatment, such as modulation of renal nerves of a human patient. In one embodiment, for example, a system monitors parameters or values generated before treatment. Feedback provided to an operator is based on the monitored values and relates to an assessment of various electrical properties associated with an electrode carried by a catheter. The electrode measures an electrical property of biological material making contact with the electrode while deploying the electrode, the electrical property being dependent on a ratio of a wall-interface area to a fluid-interface area.

An electrical communication system includes a plurality of cable connectors that are configured to mate with the same electrical connector or electrical connectors having substantially identical mating interfaces. An interconnect system includes various anti-backout latches that are movable between an engaged position and a disengaged position. When in the engaged position, the anti-backout latches can be configured to prevent an interconnect module, such as an optical transceiver, from becoming unmated from a host module. When in the disengaged position, the anti-backout latches permit the interconnect module to become unmated from a host module. Securement members are also disclosed that secure a heat sink to a module housing of the interconnect module.

An imaginary line divides a cross-section of the center conductor into two semicircles, and when the cable connector is mated with a mating connector, only one of the two semicircles is directly connected with a corresponding contact of the mating connector.
