A display apparatus includes a display panel including a display element, a first film comprising an elastomeric material and disposed on the display panel, the first film having a first thickness, a first adhesive layer disposed on the first film, the first adhesive layer having a second thickness, and a second adhesive layer disposed between the display panel and the first film and having a third thickness equal to or greater than the second thickness of the first adhesive layer.

Foldable display apparatus

Disclosed are display devices and methods of fabricating the same. The display device comprises a display panel, an optical layer on the display panel, and a backlight unit that is below the display panel and provides the display panel with light. The optical layer includes a plurality of optical fiber segments, and an air layer between the optical fiber segments. The light generated from the backlight unit is provided to the optical fiber segments through the display panel, and the light is diffused by the optical fiber segments and an air layer dispersed among the optical fiber segments.

A display apparatus includes a display panel, a light guide unit disposed under the display panel that includes a light incident surface, an opposite surface opposite to the light incident surface, side surfaces connecting the light incident surface and the opposite surface, and a light exiting surface facing the display panel, and a foam tape attached on an edge of the light exiting surface and an edge of a lower surface of the display panel to fix the display panel and the light guide unit. The foam tape includes a first adhesive layer, a reflecting layer disposed on the first adhesive layer, a foam layer disposed on the reflecting layer, and a second adhesive layer disposed on the foam layer and attached to the display panel.

Backlight unit and display device including the same

A display device includes a backlight assembly including a light emitting unit to emit a light and a display panel receiving the light and displaying an image. The light emitting unit includes a light emitting diode package, an optical lens, and a reflective layer. The light emitting diode package includes at least two light emitting diodes to emit lights having different colors. The optical lens covers the light emitting diode package and includes a first lens surface and a second lens surface changing an optical path of the light incident through the first lens surface. The reflective layer is partially disposed on the first lens surface.

A backlight unit includes a light source that emits light and a light guide plate disposed adjacent to the light source. The light guide plate includes an incident surface to which light is incident, an exit surface from which light incident through the incident surface exits, a reflection surface facing the exit surface to reflect the incident light, and a plurality of lenticular protrusions disposed on the exit surface. The reflection surface includes an inclined surface proximal to the incident surface and inclined with respect to the exit surface.

A display apparatus includes a first substrate including pixels, a second substrate facing the first substrate, and a liquid crystal layer interposed between the first substrate and the second substrate. Each of the pixels includes a thin film transistor disposed on a first insulating substrate, a first protective layer that covers the thin film transistor and includes a SiOC layer, a first electrode disposed on the first protective layer, a second protective layer that covers the first electrode, and a second electrode disposed on the second protective layer.
