The present disclosure provides a hollow-core microstructure optical fiber preform, an optical fiber, and a method for manufacturing thereof. An objective of the present disclosure is to introduce a support sheet into a nested structure unit of the hollow-core microstructure optical fiber preform, which not only increases the number of reflection surfaces without increasing the number of nested layers of glass tubes, but also achieves a more accurate positioning by the support sheet and improves manufacturing accuracy as compared to a tangential structure of nested glass tubes, such that the following technical problems, difficulty in controlling a curvature of reflection surfaces, low manufacturing accuracy, large difference between actual loss and theoretical loss, or poor batch consistency, in related anti-resonance optical fibers, caused by increasing the number of layers of nested microstructure units in order to increase the number of reflection surfaces, are solved.

Hollow-core microstructure optical fiber preform, optical fiber and method for manufacturing thereof

A low-dispersion single-mode optical fiber includes a core and a cladding covering the core. The core has a relative refractive index difference of 0.30-0.65% and a radius of 2.5-4.5 &#x3bc;m. The cladding layer including first, second, third cladding layers and an outer cladding arranged sequentially from inside to outside. The first cladding layer covers the core, and has a relative refractive index difference of &#x2212;0.70% to &#x2212;0.30% and a radius of 4.5-7.5 &#x3bc;m. The second cladding layer covers the first cladding layer, and has a relative refractive index difference of &#x2212;0.20% to 0.25% and a radius of 7.0-12.0 &#x3bc;m. The third cladding layer covers the second cladding layer, and has a relative refractive index difference of &#x2212;0.60% to 0.00% and a radius of 10.0-20.0 &#x3bc;m. The outer cladding covers the third cladding layer, and is a layer made of pure silicon dioxide glass.

Low-dispersion single-mode optical fiber

An optical fiber with a large effective area includes a core layer and a cladding layer. The core layer comprises an inner core layer having a radius of 1-4 &#x3bc;m and a relative refractive index difference &#x394;of &#x2212;0.2%&#x2267;&#x394;&#x3c;0% relative to the outer core layer, and an outer core layer having a radius of 4-7 &#x3bc;m and a relative refractive index difference &#x394;of &#x2212;0.15%-0.05%. &#x394;remains unchanged or increases as the radius of the inner core layer increases. The cladding layer comprises an inner cladding layer cladding the core layer and having a radius of 7-20 &#x3bc;m and a relative refractive index difference &#x394;of &#x2212;0.5%&#x2dc;&#x2212;0.1%, a depressed cladding layer has a radius of 12-40 &#x3bc;m, and a relative refractive index difference &#x394;of &#x2212;1.0%&#x2dc;&#x2212;0.3%, and an outer cladding layer having a relative refractive index difference &#x394;of &#x2212;0.2%&#x2dc;&#x2212;0.4%.

Optical fiber with large effective area

A dispersion compensation fiber comprises a fiber core and cladding. The fiber core is a core layer mainly doped with germanium and having a positive relative refractive index difference. The cladding covering the fiber core comprises a trench cladding mainly doped with fluorine, an annular cladding mainly doped with germanium, a matching cladding mainly doped with fluorine, and an outermost mechanical cladding in order. Relative refractive index differences of the fiber core and the claddings are respectively: &#x394;1% being 1.55% to 2.20%, &#x394;2% being &#x2212;0.55% to &#x2212;0.30%, &#x394;3% being 0.40% to 0.65%, &#x394;4% being &#x2212;0.20% to &#x2212;0.01%, and &#x394;5% being 0. Radius ranges, from R1 to R5, of the fiber core and the claddings are respectively: R1 being 1.4 to 1.7 &#x3bc;m, R2 being 4.1 to 4.8 &#x3bc;m, R3 being 6.7 to 8.8 &#x3bc;m, R4 being 10 to 17 &#x3bc;m, and R5 being 38 to 63 &#x3bc;m.

Dispersion compensation fiber

A method for manufacturing an optical fiber preform, including: a) providing a lining tube as a substrate tube, and doping and depositing by a PCVD or an MCVD process; b) in the reacting gas of silicon tetrachloride and oxygen, introducing a fluorine-containing gas for fluorine doping, introducing germanium tetrachloride for germanium doping, ionizing the reacting gas in the lining tube through microwaves to form plasma, depositing the plasma on the inner wall of the lining tube in the form of glass; c) after the completion of deposition, processing the deposited lining tube into a solid core rod by melting contraction through an electric heating furnace; d) sleeving the solid core rod into a pure quartz glass jacketing tube and manufacturing the two into an optical fiber preform; and e) allowing the effective diameter d of the optical fiber preform to become between 95 and 205 mm.

Methods for manufacturing optical fiber preform and methods for manufacturing optical fiber

A low attenuation single mode optical fiber includes a core layer and claddings. The core layer has the relative refractive index difference (RRID) &#x394;1 ranging from &#x2212;0.1% to +0.1% and the radius Rranging from 4.0 &#x3bc;m to 6.0 &#x3bc;m. The claddings have three claddings layers surrounding the core layer. The RRID of the first cladding layer &#x394;2 ranges from &#x2212;0.2% to &#x2212;0.6%, and the radius Rthereof ranges from 10 &#x3bc;m to 22 &#x3bc;m. The RRID of the second cladding layer &#x394;3 is less than &#x394;2. The RRID and radius of the first cladding layer and the RRID and radius of the second cladding layer satisfy the relationship of: V=(&#x394;2&#x2212;&#x394;3)&#xd7;(R&#x2212;R), and the value of V ranges from 0.15% &#x3bc;m to 0.8% &#x3bc;m. The third cladding layer is all the layers that closely surround the second cladding layer, and the RRID of each layer is greater than &#x394;3.

Single mode optical fiber

A single mode fiber having a core, an inner cladding, a depressed cladding, and an outer cladding composed of pure silica glass. The core is surrounded in sequence with the inner cladding and the depressed cladding. The core has silica glass doped with germanium and fluorine, with a diameter (a) of 8.0-8.8 &#x3bc;m, a relative refractive index difference (&#x394;) of 0.35-0.38%, and the contribution of fluoride (&#x394;) is &#x2212;0.09&#xb1;0.02%. The inner cladding has silica glass doped with germanium and fluorine, with a diameter (b) of 18-21 &#x3bc;m and a relative refractive index difference (&#x394;) of 0&#xb1;0.02%. The depressed cladding has silica glass doped with fluorine, with a diameter (c) of 26-36 &#x3bc;m and a relative refractive index difference (&#x394;) at the external interface thereof is between &#x2212;0.22 and &#x2212;0.35%, and a relative refractive index difference (&#x394;) at the internal interface thereof is between &#x2212;0.20 and &#x2212;0.35%, and &#x394;&#x2266;&#x394;. The fiber has a good bending resistance, good mechanical properties, and extended service lifetime, and prevents the additional stresses generated by bending from passing on to the core, thereby reducing attenuation.

Single-mode fiber and production method thereof

The invention relates to a low dispersion slope dispersion-shifted single-mode fiber for large capacity transmission comprising a core and a cladding. Said fiber is characterized in that said core has three to five core segments having different refractive index profiles, and said cladding has four to six cladding segments. The total dispersion slope of said fiber at 1550 nm is less than 0.060 ps/nm&#xb7;km, the zero dispersion wavelength is less than 1420 nm, the effective area ranges from 55 &#x3bc;mto 65 &#x3bc;m, and the dispersion in the region of 1530 nm&#x2dc;1565 nm ranges from 5.0 ps/nm&#xb7;km to 12.0 ps/nm&#xb7;km. The fiber has low dispersion slope, moderate dispersion, low attenuation, and excellent bend resistance performance. It is suitable for a high-speed (10 Gbits/s and 40 Gbits/s), large capacity, and long distance DWDM system. Therefore, not only the non-linear problem that fazes high-speed communication is solved effectively, but also the DWDM transmission at 10 Gbits/s can be realized within a wider wavelength range. In addition, low dispersion slope is advantageous for comprehensive management of dispersion, so that the requirement for long distance non-electric relay can be fulfilled.

Dispersion-shifted single-mode fiber having low dispersion slope for large capacity transmission

A high performance dispersion compensating optical fiber is provided. In one embodiment, the optical fiber includes a core layer and a cladding layer surrounding the core layer. The core layer includes five core sublayers wherein the &#x25a1;% of the first core sublayer is positive, and the &#x25a1;% of at least one of the other core sublayers is negative, the radius ranges of the respective core sublayers beginning outwardly from the first core sublayer are 0.6 to 0.8 &#x3bc;m, 1.0 to 1.2 &#x3bc;m, 1.6 to 2.0 &#x3bc;m, 5.0 to 6.0 &#x3bc;m, and 7.0 to 8.0 &#x3bc;m, respectively; the ranges of &#x25a1;% of the respective sublayers beginning outwardly from the first core sublayer are about 1.8 to 2.1%, 1.2 to 1.4%, 0.6 to 1%, &#x2212;0.4 to &#x2212;0.6% and 0.2 to 0.4%, and the cladding layer is a pure Silicon Dioxide glass layer.
