Embodiments of this application provide antenna switching methods and apparatuses. In an implementation, a first communication device determines a first antenna identifier based on air interface transmission information, the first communication device sends the first antenna identifier to a digital switch, and the digital switch switches from a second switch state to a first switch state based on the first antenna identifier, where the first switch state indicates that a second communication device communicates with the first antenna within a first time unit, and the second switch state indicates that the second communication device communicates with a second antenna within a second time unit.

An adaptive modulation and coding method includes: receiving, by a base station, a channel quality indicator CQI sent by a first terminal; determining, by the base station, a subframe for scheduling the first terminal; determining, by the base station, a subframe set to which the subframe belongs, where the subframe set is a first subframe set or a second subframe set, and the first subframe set and the second subframe set correspond to different CQI adjustment amounts; adjusting, by the base station, the CQI based on a CQI adjustment amount corresponding to the subframe set to which the subframe belongs; and determining, by the base station based on an adjusted CQI, a modulation and coding scheme MCS for scheduling the first terminal.

A method for booting a data processing system (DPS) involves, during a boot process of the DPS, using a preliminary bootcode module from a low-speed nonvolatile memory (NVM) in the DPS to load a main bootcode module from a high-speed NVM in the DPS into a volatile random access memory (RAM) in the DPS, wherein the high-speed NVM supports a read speed that is faster than a maximum read speed of the low-speed NVM. The method also involves, during the boot process, after loading the main bootcode module from the high-speed NVM into the RAM, using the main bootcode module to boot the DPS to an operating system (OS). The method may also involve using the preliminary bootcode module to automatically determine whether the main bootcode module from the high-speed NVM has good integrity. Other embodiments are described and claimed.

An improved base station sharing in a radio communication system is disclosed. A logical base station is arranged to share a physical base station in the radio communication system with at least one further logical base station. According to an embodiment of the invention, the logical base station is associated with a control node and with an operation and maintenance node in the radio communication system, wherein the control node and the operation and maintenance node are separate from at least one further control node and at least one further operation and maintenance node being associated with the at least one further logical base station.
