A method and apparatus to estimate and mitigate platform noise incurred at a wireless device coupled to the platform. A computing device includes a platform including a first processor, a wireless device coupled to the platform, the wireless device including a second processor, and a plurality of antennas coupled to the wireless device. At least one of the first processor or the second processor is configured to determine characteristics of a platform noise incurred at the wireless device in real-time due to utilization of circuitries and processing components on the platform and implement an adaptive real-time and application/context-aware measure to mitigate the platform noise based on the determined characteristics of the platform noise.

Method and apparatus to mitigate platform noise and interference incurred at a wireless device coupled to the platform

An apparatus of embodiments, as described herein, includes one or more processors to track data associated with movement of a computing device accessible to a user, and evaluate the data and compare a latency with latency thresholds, where the data indicates the latency and the latency thresholds associated with a frame. The one or more processors are further to maintain a current video encoding rate, if the latency is lower than a first latency threshold and greater than a second latency threshold. The current video encoding rate is decreased if the latency is equal to or greater than the first latency threshold, where the current video encoding rate is increased if the latency is lower than the second latency threshold. The one or more processors are further to present the frame at the computing device including one or more of a wearable device and a mobile device.

Dynamic video encoding and view adaptation in wireless computing environments

Technologies for dynamic wireless noise mitigation include a computing device having a wireless modem and one or more antennas. The computing device activates one or more components of the computing device, monitors platform activity, and measures wireless noise received by the antennas. The computing device trains a noise prediction model based on the platform activity and the measured noise. The computing device may monitor platform activity and predict a noise prediction with the noise prediction model based on the monitored activity. The computing device may mitigate wireless noise received by the wireless antennas based on the noise prediction. The computing device may provide the noise prediction to the wireless modem. Other embodiments are described and claimed.

Technologies for dynamic wireless noise mitigation using artificial intelligence

A method of wirelessly charging batteries of devices includes detecting at least two devices being simultaneously present on a charging mat. It is determined, for each of the at least two devices, whether the device is compatible with a wireless charging standard. It is determined, for each of the two devices, whether the device is enabled for a near field communication. Charging of the devices is prevented if at least one of the devices is enabled for a near field communication but not compatible with the wireless charging standard.

Wireless wearable devices having self-steering antennas are disclosed. A disclosed example wearable device includes an antenna to be communicatively coupled to a wireless data transceiver of a base station. The disclosed example wearable device also includes a steering mount coupled to the antenna, where the steering mount is to adjust an orientation of the antenna towards a wireless coverage zone associated with the wireless data transceiver based on a movement of the wearable device.

The disclosed embodiment provide different methods for NFC tag detection without impacting A4WP wireless charging. In an exemplary method, dedicated NFC reader is used to interleave the NFC and A4WP signals on the same coil. In one implementation the signals are frequency-multiplexed. In another implementation, the signals are time-multiplexed.

Methods, apparatus, systems and articles of manufacture are disclosed to order a plurality of segments of an image for encoding and wireless transmission to a display device. The apparatus includes a segment orderer to arrange the segments in an encoding order for encoding. The encoding order is different than a scan line order, and encoding order is such that a center segment of the plurality of segments is to occupy a first position in the encoding order. The first position precedes a second position occupied by the center segment in the scan line order and the center segment corresponds to a center of the image. The apparatus also includes an encoder to encode the segments in the encoding order, and a wireless transmitter to transmit the encoded portions to the display device in the encoding order in which the encoded segments are encoded.

Ordering segments of an image for encoding and transmission to a display device

The disclosure generally relates to a method and apparatus for energy harvest from a proximity coupling device (PCD) by a proximity integrated circuit card. In one embodiment, the PICC includes an integrated BLE. The BLE may be exclusively charged by the external magnetic field received from the PCD. The PCD may be configured to detect when the PICC is nearby and increase its duty cycle to thereby increase the magnetic field imposed on the PICC. The PICC may include circuitry to receive and convert the magnetic field to electric potential or voltage. The voltage may be store at a capacitor for BLE's usage.

Method and apparatus for energy harvest from a proximity coupling device

Power transmitting unit (PTU) usable with a wireless power transfer system to supply power and maintain a control signaling link to a local power receiving unit (PRU). A cross-connection circumstance between the PTU and a remote PRU is determined, where a control signaling link between the PTU and the remote PRU is established in an absence of power transmission to the remote PRU from the PTU. In response to the cross-connection circumstance, the control signaling link with the remote PRU is terminated while the supply of power and the control signaling link with the local PRU is maintained. In a related embodiment, a wrong-placement characteristic where power is transferred to a rogue local PRU in an absence of a control signaling link with that PRU, is detected. In response, the supply of power is maintained for at least a waiting period.

Cross-connection resolution in wireless power transfer systems

An apparatus and related operating method of a mmWave WHMD, are provided. The apparatus utilizes beamforming information to determine direction information indicating a direction of a received signal from an external component that is connected to the apparatus via a VR data link. The apparatus selects and sets a current MCS that supports a data load of the VR data link. The apparatus, while maintaining the VR data link, determines a VR data link condition by a determination that a received signal is stronger or weaker than a predetermined signal strength level for the current MCS of the VR data link. When stronger, the processing circuitry is configured to signal a transceiver to widen a beam from a current beamwidth to a new wider beamwidth in a direction based on the direction information to maintain the current MCS and data load of the VR data link.

Smart beamwidth adaptation in wireless head-mounted displays

The disclosure generally relates to methods, system and apparatus to optimize wireless charging while allowing FM radio reception. In an exemplary embodiment, presence of an active FM radio on a wireless platform is detected and the active FM channel is identified. To reduce radio frequency interference between the wireless charging magnetic field and the FM channel, the PTU may adaptively shift the A4WP frequency. The disclosed embodiments improve user experience with FM radios in wireless charging systems.
