Systems, methods, and computer-readable media for an integrated Wi-Fi Access Point and cellular network Radio Unit (RU) include a communication system interfacing with a wired network for communicating Wi-Fi traffic and cellular network traffic, the communication system integrating a Wi-Fi Access Point (AP) with a cellular network Radio Unit (RU). The Wi-Fi traffic and cellular network traffic can be processed in the communication system. The communication system can interface with at least one programmable Radio Frequency (RF) front end configured for wireless communication over one or more frequency bands for Wi-Fi traffic and one or more frequency bands for cellular network traffic (e.g., 5G, LTE, Wi-Fi).

A computing device determines an onboarding algorithm to use for onboarding a wireless device. The computing device determines, based on the onboarding algorithm, a first set of predefined information and a second set of dynamically generated information to use as inputs to the onboarding algorithm. The computing device generates, via the onboarding algorithm, a set of credentials based on the first set of predefined information and the second set of dynamically generated information, and uses the set of credentials to secure a connection for onboarding the wireless device.

Modulated radio frequency (RF) packets are received from a wireless device, and converted to modulated baseband packets. Baseband parameters are derived from the modulated baseband packets. The baseband profiles are classified under known device types based on baseband parameters included in the baseband profiles. The baseband parameters of the baseband profile are compared to corresponding baseband parameters of the baseband profiles in the database. If the comparing indicates a match between the baseband profile and one of the baseband profiles, the wireless device is classified under the known device type of the one of the baseband profiles, and the baseband profile is stored in the database under the known device type.

A network controller identifies a plurality of sniffer targets for which at least one of a plurality of sniffer candidate access points an act as a network sniffer. The controller receives a desired sniffer target. The controller selects a first AP, of the plurality of sniffer candidate APs, for use as a network sniffer, based on the identified plurality of sniffer targets and the desired sniffer target. The controller configures a radio in the first AP as a network sniffer to monitor network traffic related to the desired sniffer target.

A wireless access point device wirelessly communicates with a plurality of wireless client devices. The wireless access point includes a central processor subsystem and a plurality of transceiver devices each including a plurality of antennas, and a plurality of radio transceivers, each of the plurality of transceiver devices configured for deployment throughout a coverage area, each transceiver device being connected to the central processor subsystem via a respective cable. The central processor subsystem distributes in-phase and quadrature baseband samples across the plurality of transceiver devices associated with traffic to be transmitted and received via the plurality of transceiver devices in one or more frequency bands so as to synthesize a wideband multiple-input multiple-output transmission channel and a wideband multiple-input multiple-output reception channel. The access point transmit and receive functions are 'split' or partitioned across the plurality of transceivers devices.

The present disclosure discloses a method and a network device for partitioning data sets for transmission on multiple physical links in a network. Specifically, a network device receives a particular data set addressed to a client device. The network device partitions the particular data set into at least a first subset of data and a second subset of data. Then, the network device encapsulates the first subset of data using a first header and encapsulating the second subset of data using a second header that results in (a) data with the first header being transmitted on a first physical link and (b) data with the second header being transmitted on a second physical link different than the first physical link. Finally, the network device transmits the first subset of data with the first header and the second subset of data with the second header.

The present disclosure discloses a distributed radio management system that is capable of dynamically tuning a radio antenna to a particular radio frequency channel and/or radio frequency band. The disclosed network device includes a transceiver, an antenna, and a component on a wireless signal path between the transceiver and the antenna. The component includes functionality to dynamically switch between processing signals corresponding to a first radio frequency band and processing signals corresponding to a second radio frequency band. Moreover, the component also may include functionality to dynamically switch between processing signals and refraining from processing wireless signals that are received by the component.

Specifically, to coordinate with other Access Points (APs) and improve location accuracy of client devices, each access point can (a) obtain a schedule of another neighboring AP; (b) switch to the operating channel of the neighboring AP at a scheduled time for communication exchanges between the neighboring AP and the client device, (c) listen to the communication exchanges between the neighboring AP and the client device; (d) collecting signal samples, e.g., signal strength associated with messages originated from the client device; and (e) send the report to the location engine to allow the location engine collect more signal samples associated with the client device, thereby more accurately determine the location of the client device; etc.

A method for load balancing traffic from controller to destination access point (AP) via switch across multiple physical ports starts with controller receiving a packet from a source client device that is destined for destination client device associated with destination AP. The controller may select, based on an identifier associated with source or destination client device, a first or a second controller IP address. Controller may encapsulate the packet to generate an encapsulated packet including an outer header that includes the selected controller IP address. Controller may transmit the encapsulated packet to the switch that may distribute traffic to destination AP across multiple physical ports based on the selected controller IP address. Controller may also select a destination port based on destination client device of a packet and may encapsulate the packet using CAPWAP to generate an encapsulated packet including the destination port in a header of the encapsulated packet.

Apparatus, system and method for load balancing traffic to an access point across multiple physical ports

Stackable Layer 2 switches may be upgraded through a stateless upgrade procedure that minimizes software upgrade complexity while leveraging the intrinsic redundancy of the network to minimize traffic disruption. Disclosed methods may be targeted to platforms that lack support for other non-disruptive upgrade technologies, but that can leverage the intrinsic network redundancy to minimize traffic impact during a stack upgrade.

Bridge domain communication methods and devices are presented for efficiently communicating information in a bridge domain based upon group indications and source indications. Packets with a source and destination indication are received. A bridge domain communication process is performed at the bridge level wherein a packet is selected for forwarding based upon a source and group indication. For example, a determination is made if a particular bridge domain corresponds to the group destination indication in the received packet. The source indication in the packet is compared with a tracked source designation indication. Output ports associated with the tracked source designation indication are identified if the tracked source designation indication matches the received source indication. The communication packet is forwarded on identified ports.

Various systems and methods are disclosed for providing support for responding to location protocol queries within a network node. One such method involves associating a location with a network identity by associating a network port with a network identity and also associating the network port with the location. The association between the network port and the network identity is created in response to a network identity, which can include an IP address, being assigned to a device coupled to the network port by an identity protocol such as DHCP. The packet is sent in response to detecting a request for the device's location. The method can be performed by various devices, including a first hop node coupled to the device, a location server, and an identity server.
