A plug connector includes an insulative housing () including a base portion () and a mating portion () extending from the base portion in a first direction, a number of contacts () received in the insulative housing, and a number of wires () including a number of signal wires () and a number of power wires () respectively electrically connecting with the contacts. The signal wires and the power wires are both arranged to extend along a second direction perpendicular to the first direction of the mating portion. The power wires are arranged into two groups respectively symmetrically arranged relative to the base portion along the second direction and electrically connect to the same contacts.

Plug connector with improved cable arrangement

A plug connector () includes an insulative housing () including a base portion () and a mating portion () extending from the base portion in a first direction, a number of contacts () received in the insulative housing; and a number of wires () comprising a number of signal wires () and a number of power wires () respectively electrically connecting with the contacts. The signal wires and the power wires are both arranged to extend along second opposite directions perpendicular to the first direction of the mating portion to locate at opposite sides of the mating portion.

The contacts are received in the insulative housing, each contact comprises a mating portion, a retention portion, and a tail portion extending rearwardly and downwardly from the retention portion. The cable comprises an insulative jacket and a number of conductive cores extending upwardly beyond an upper end of the insulative jacket and connecting with the tail portions of the contacts. A cover is over-molded with the rear portion of the insulative housing and the cable. A method for making such a cable end connector assembly is also disclosed.

Right angle cable end connector assembly and the method of making the same

A cable end connector assembly () includes an insulative housing (), a number of contacts () received in the insulative housing, a cable () electrically connecting with the contacts, a casing () defining a slot () in one side, a cover () enclosing the insulative housing and the cable, and a positioning member (). The insulative housing includes a guiding protrusion () projecting outwardly from an outer surface thereof. The positioning member includes an arm portion () defining a receiving cavity () for receiving the guiding protrusion therein, a positioning portion () having an engaging bar () received in the slot of the casing, and a middle portion () connecting the arm portion and the positioning portion.

Cable end connector assembly

A cable end connector assembly () includes an insulative housing (), a number of contacts (), a cable (), a casing () and a cover (). The insulative housing includes a rear portion. The contacts are received in the insulative housing. The cable includes a number of conductive cores () electrically connected with the contacts respectively and an insulative jacket () surrounding and separating the conductive cores. The casing is molded with a connection between the contacts and the cable. The cable is bent along a rear edge of the casing. The cover is over-molded with the rear portion of the insulative housing, the casing and the cable. A method for making such a cable end connector assembly is also disclosed.

A cable end connector assembly () includes a dielectric housing (), a plurality of contacts (), a spacer (), a cable (), and a cover (). The dielectric housing includes an upper wall (), a lower wall () opposite to the upper wall, and first and second sidewalls () connecting with the upper and lower walls. A cutout () is defined in the first sidewall adjacent to a rear end of the housing. The cable has a plurality of conductive cores () electrically connecting the contacts. The cover is over-molded with the rear end of the housing and a front end of the cable. A first lateral wall () of the cover is received in the cutout of the housing, and an outer surface of the first sidewall of the housing is coplanar with an outer surface of the first lateral wall.
