In some example embodiments, there may be provided a method that includes receiving, by a machine learning encoder as part of a training phase, channel state information as data samples; generating, by the machine learning encoder, a latent variable comprising a log likelihood ratio value representation for the channel state information, wherein the latent variable provides a lower dimension binary representation when compared to the received channel state information to enable compression of the received channel state information; generating, by the binary sampler, a binary coding value representation of the latent variable, wherein the binary coding value converts the latent variable to a binary form; and generating, by the machine learning decoder, a reconstructed channel state information, wherein the generating is based in part on the binary coding value representation of the latent variable generated by the binary sampler. The method may further include configuring a channel state information trigger with the one or more user equipment based on the predictive model. In addition, the method may include signaling predicted channel state information to the one or more user equipment.

A network node may construct a map of RF conditions associated with location information within its coverage area. The network node may configure a radio resource control (RRC)-connected UE to operate in an RF sensing mode. The network node may obtain a positioning of the UE from a sensing node. The network node may determine the RF conditions of the UE based on its position using the map.

Embodiments described herein encode data for multiple-segment transmission in a communication channel by encoding payload bits with an outer code and distributing the outer encoded payload bits to a plurality of N element coders, where N is an integer greater than one. At each of the N element coders the respectively input outer encoded payload bits are encoded with a respective element code. Outputs of the N element coders are encoded with an inner code such that the inner code applied to at least one of the outputs of the N element coders is a function of the output of at least one other of the N element coders. Finally, N discrete inner coded outputs are provided for transmission in respective N discrete segments of a wireless channel. The examples present polar element coders and the inner code combines outputs of certain element coders with an exclusive-OR function.

A method, apparatus, and computer program product are described that receive an indication of power levels at the base station in a wireless communications system from each user equipment of user equipments served by the base station and determine whether at least one user equipment of those user equipments is capable to overlap at least one same time-frequency resource as at least one user equipment of a remainder of those user equipments. In response to the determination that at least one user equipment is capable to overlap with at least one user equipment of the remainder, then such overlap is scheduled. Based on the overlap being scheduled, packets from the one or more user equipments received are then decoded using an advanced receiver process.
