A method for implementing a variable optical splitter and a variable optical splitter are provided. The method includes that: the variable optical splitter is divided into one or more virtual optical splitting units according to wavelengths/wavebands of optical signals, wherein the virtual optical splitting units and the wavelengths/wavebands are in a one-to-one correspondence, and moreover, the wavelengths/wavebands and splitting ratios are also in a one-to-one correspondence; and optical guiding or optical splitting is performed on the incident optical signals through the virtual optical splitting units. By adopting the technical solutions provided by the present disclosure, the technical problems that there is yet no optical splitter with a variable splitting ratio in the related technology and the like are solved, and controllability of the splitting ratios of the optical splitter is achieved.

Method for implementing variable optical splitter and variable optical splitter

The disclosure provides a method and a system for detecting a fiber fault in a Passive Optical Network (PON). The system comprises an optical path detection device, a Wavelength Division Multiplexing (WDM) coupler, a wavelength selection coupler, a branch fiber selector and a wavelength selection router. The detection system is attached to an original PON system, without influencing the operation of the original system while performing the detection. With the disclosure, the problem of being unable to determine whether there is a fault in a branch fiber due to the loss of an optical path detection reflection signal is solved, the branch fiber with a fault can be quickly located and fixed, thus the operational and maintenance costs of an operator are reduced.

Method and system for detecting fiber fault in passive optical network

The disclosure provides a long-distance box and a method for processing uplink light and downlink light of the long-distance box, uplink light and downlink light from different Passive Optical Network (PON) systems are split, the uplink light from the different PON systems is transmitted through a first optical path, and the downlink light from the different PON systems is transmitted through a second optical path; wherein the uplink light from the different PON systems is amplified by an Optical Amplifier (OA) and then output to Optical Line Terminals (OLT) of respective systems; the downlink light from different PON systems with the different wavelengths is transmitted through different optical sub-paths of the second optical path according to the wavelengths of the downlink light, and the downlink light is amplified by different Optical-Electrical-Optical (OEO) conversion devices on the different optical sub-paths and then output to Optical Network Units (ONUs) of the respective systems. The disclosure applies a hybrid long-distance box combining OEO and OA technologies to process a point-to-multipoint fiber access of a coexisting PON system, integrates advantages of both OA and OEO, and has high reliability, such that both uplink light and downlink light from different PON systems are amplified effectively.

Long-distance box and method for processing uplink and downlink light thereof

The present invention provides a long reach optical amplification device, a passive optical network and an optical signal transmission method in the communication field. The long reach optical amplification device comprises: a first optical diplexer, configured to transmit one or multiple downlink optical signal(s) from a first segment of Feeder fiber to a downlink optical amplifier; and to couple one or multiple uplink optical signal(s) amplified by a uplink optical amplifier to the first segment of Feeder fiber; the downlink optical amplifier, configured to amplify the downlink optical signal(s) and to output the amplified one or multiple downlink optical signal(s); a second optical diplexer, configured to couple the downlink optical signal(s) amplified by the downlink optical amplifier to the second segment of Feeder fiber, and to transmit the uplink optical signal(s) from the second segment of Feeder fiber to the uplink optical amplifier; and the uplink optical amplifier, configured to amplify the uplink optical signal(s) and to output the amplified uplink optical signal(s). The present invention resolves the long reach coexistence of several PON systems.

Long reach optical amplification device, passive optical network, and method for transmitting optical signals

The disclosure provides a long-distance box and a method for processing uplink/downlink light thereof. The method includes that: the uplink/downlink light (uplink light and downlink light) from different PON systems is split, and the uplink/downlink light from different PON systems is transmitted through different optical paths; and the uplink/downlink light from different PON systems is processed by long-distance boxes belonging to corresponding systems in different optical paths, and then output to the OLTs/ONUs of respective systems. By means of the method provided in the disclosure, a simple and reliable solution is provided for operators to solve the long-distance problem caused by the coexistence of multiple PON systems; furthermore, in the disclosure, modification for the system is slightest, reliability of the system is highest, and an efficiency of the system is highest, so that time and cost are saved for the operators.

Long-distance box and method for processing uplink and downlink lights thereof

The present invention discloses a Wavelength Division Multiplexing Filter which can satisfy coexistence requirements of different PON systems and an optical line detecting system. The Wavelength Division Multiplexing Filter comprises a plurality of filters that are configured: in a downlink direction, to receive a first optical pulse signal output by a first PON system, a second optical pulse signal output by a second PON system or gained by coupling an output signal of the second PON system and a video signal, and a third optical pulse signal sent from an Optical Time Domain Reflectometer, and to couple the first optical pulse signal, the second optical pulse signal and the third optical pulse signal into an Optical Division Network; and in an uplink direction, to split an uplink optical pulse signal according to wavelength bands, to transmit an optical pulse signal in a first uplink wavelength range to the first PON system, to transmit an optical pulse signal in a second uplink wavelength range to the second PON system, and to transmit an optical signal in a third uplink wavelength range to the Optical Time Domain Reflectometer.
