Systems and methods are provided for managing power consumption of a medical imaging detector by the use of triggering signals, environmental condition data, and/or determination of a variable time interval triggering event that is unique for each power consumption state. Systems and methods are provided for managing power and temperature of a device, after receiving a request for a function to be performed by the device determining an 'on' trigger component, an 'off' trigger component, associated circuits for performing the received function, providing power to the associated circuits upon the occurrence of the &#x201c;on&#x201d; trigger component, and removing power to the associated circuits upon the occurrence of the &#x201c;off&#x201d; trigger component. Further, an instruction is described for determining and displaying a variable time interval that is indicative of a time to change from one state to a desired state.

Digital radiography detector with thermal and power management

A system and method for asynchronous calibration of a solid-state detector are provided. A first offset is obtained with a first frame interval. A second offset image is obtained with a second frame interval that is shorter than the first frame interval. A third offset image is obtained with a third frame interval that is longer than the first frame interval. The first offset image is offset with each of the second offset image and the third offset image to produce offset comparison images. Pixels in the offset comparison images with an intensity value that exceeds an asynchronous threshold intensity value are identified as asynchronous bad pixels and added to a bad pixel map. Subsequently acquired x-ray images are offset with corresponding offset images. The bad pixel map is used to identify asynchronous bad pixels in the displayed images.

A method minimizing artifacts in dual or multiple energy images includes: obtaining first and second offset images from a detector after obtaining first and second exposure image data sets from the detector. Other embodiments include: changing the dosage of the exposures, changing the gain of the detector, changing the pixel acquisition resolution of the detector, and leaving the detector unscrubbed between the first and second read times.

Method and system for dual or multiple energy imaging

An apparatus for use with a detector system including a solid state flat panel detector and an image processor, the detector including a plurality of pixels, each pixel generating an initial intensity signal, the initial signals together defining an initial image, the processor storing an initial bad pixel map that includes a known bad pixel set, after signals are generated, the processor automatically using intensity signals corresponding to other than the bad pixel set to generate replacement intensity signals for each of the bad pixel set pixels thereby generating a corrected image, the apparatus for identifying additional bad pixels, the apparatus comprising a processor that, after the image data is collected, examines at least one of the initial image and the corrected image to identify a likely additional bad pixel set including pixels that have unexpected values and an interface for indicating the likely bad set to a system user.

Method and apparatus for identifying composite defective pixel map

A method is provided to identify pixels in a digital x-ray detector that experience an amount of residual charge that is sufficient to cause an image artifact. A lag artifact threshold is obtained. The lag artifact threshold identifies an amount of residual charge that, when held by the pixels in the digital x-ray detector, will cause image artifacts. A pixel lag experienced by a pixel is determined. The pixel lag may be different for each pixel. Pixels that have a pixel lag exceeding the lag artifact threshold are identified and corrected.
