Filters and acoustic resonators for radio-frequency circuits and devices. In some embodiments, a radio-frequency circuit can include a plurality of nodes and a common node. The radio-frequency circuit can further include a signal path implemented between each of the plurality of nodes and the common node. Each corresponding signal path can include a filter having a first Q-factor value and a respective resonator having a second Q-factor value higher than the first Q-factor value.

A reconfigurable triplexer that can support more frequency bands than a traditional triplexer is disclosed. For example, the reconfigurable triplexer can handle frequencies of several hundred megahertz up to 10 gigahertz. Further, certain implementations of the reconfigurable multiplexer can reduce or eliminate frequency dead zones that exist with traditional multiplexers. The reconfigurable triplexer includes a multi-stage filter bank capable of supporting a number of frequency bands and a bypass circuit that enables the triplexer to support a variety of sets of frequencies. For instance, unlike traditional triplexers, the reconfigurable triplexer can support both frequency bands with relatively narrow spacing and frequency bands with relatively wide spacing. Further, the inclusion of the bypass circuit enables the reduction or elimination of dead zones between supported frequencies.

Multi-stage reconfigurable triplexer

A power amplifier that can support multiple communication networks while maintaining power efficiency across each of the supported communication networks is disclosed. In some implementations described herein, a power amplifier module includes a bypass circuit that enables different voltage supplies to be provided to the power amplifier. By regulating the voltage supply provided to the power amplifier, the power amplifier can support different communication networks while maintaining power efficiency across a dynamic frequency range. Moreover, embodiments herein may include a buck converter, or other form of DC-DC converter, that enables the power amplifier to operate with respect to multiple communication networks. Advantageously, in certain embodiments, because wireless devices that include multiple power amplifiers often require a DC-DC converter to support at least some of the communication networks, the inclusion of the buck converter in the embodiments described herein does not add additional cost or size to the wireless device.

In some embodiments, a multiplexer for processing radio-frequency signals can include a plurality of nodes, a common node, and a signal path implemented between each of the plurality of nodes and the common node. Each signal path can include a filter, and each of at least some of the signal paths can further include a resonator coupled with the corresponding filter. A signal path with the resonator provides a sharper notch profile for a radio-frequency signal than a signal path without the resonator.

A power amplifier (PA) assembly can include a radio-frequency (RF) amplification path having a first stage and a second stage, with each stage including a transistor. The PA assembly can further include a biasing circuit having a first bias path between a supply node and the base of a corresponding transistor. The PA assembly can further include a linearizing circuit implemented as either or both of a second bias path and a coupling path relative to the first bias path. The second bias path can be configured to provide an additional base bias current to the base under a selected condition. The coupling path can be configured to improve linearity of the corresponding transistor operating in a first mode while allowing a ballast resistance to be sufficiently robust for the corresponding transistor operating in a second mode.

A power amplifier (PA) assembly can include a radio-frequency (RF) amplification path having a first stage and a second stage, with each stage including a transistor. The PA assembly can further include a biasing circuit having a first bias path between a supply node and the base of a corresponding transistor. The PA assembly can further include a linearizing circuit implemented as either or both of a second bias path and a coupling path relative to the first bias path. Multi-mode power amplifiers (PAs) having improved linearity. A PA can include an amplifying bipolar junction transistor (BJT) configured to receive and amplify a radio-frequency (RF) signal. The PA can further include a biasing circuit configured to provide a first bias signal or a second bias signal to the BJT for operation in a first mode or a second mode. Each of the first bias signal and the second bias signal can be routed to the BJT through a path that includes a common node and a ballast. The PA can further include a linearizing circuit implemented between the common node and a node along an input path for the BJT. The linearizing circuit can be configured as a coupling path to improve linearity of the PA operating in the first mode while allowing the ballast to be sufficiently robust for the PA operating in the second mode.
