A method for detecting frequency mismatch in microelectromechanical systems (MEMS) gyroscopes is described. Detection of the frequency mismatch between a drive signal and a sense signal may be performed by generating an output signal whose spectrum reflects the physical characteristics of the gyroscope, and using the output signal to determine the frequency fof the sense signal. The output signal may be generated by cross-correlating a random or pseudo-random noise signal with a response signal, where the response signal can be obtained by allowing the noise signal to pass through a system designed to have a noise transfer function that mimics the frequency response of the gyroscope. Since the noise signal is random or pseudo-random, cross-correlating the noise signal with the response signal reveals spectral characteristics of the gyroscope. To improve computational efficiency, the cross-correlation can be performed on demodulated versions of the noise signal and the response signal.

Frequency mismatch detection method for mode matching in gyroscopes

Systems and techniques are described for matching the resonance frequencies of multiple resonators. In some embodiments, a resonator generates an output signal reflecting the resonator's response to an input drive signal and an input noise signal. The output signal is then compared to the noise signal to derive a signal representative of the resonance frequency of the resonator. Comparing that signal to the output signal of a second resonator gives an indication of whether there is a difference between the resonance frequencies of the two resonators. If there is, one or both of the resonators may be adjusted. In this manner, the resonance frequencies of resonators may be matched during normal operation of the resonators.

Mode-matching of MEMS resonators

The present disclosure provides a stream processor, an associated stream controller and compiler, and associated methods for data processing, such as image processing. In some embodiments, a method includes defining a kernel pattern associated with an image frame, and processing the image frame using the defined kernel pattern. The method can further include generating a kernel switch lookup table based on the defined kernel pattern. In various implementations, the stream controller is operable to direct execution of kernels on the image frame according to the defined kernel pattern and the kernel switch lookup table.

Descriptor-based stream processor for image processing and method associated therewith

A system and method provide for an adaptive median filter with edge protection and four line buffers to remove the impulse noise for a Bayer pattern image. The system and method separates the Bayer pattern image data into different channels by color and applies the adaptive median filter to remove the impulse noise on each channel. The adaptive median filter has five threshold values that may be modified to achieve different light condition response based on the detected noise level of the image. Thus, proper threshold values with better brightness response to the input pixels may be applied and impulse noise may be suppressed effectively, while preserving image details.

Impulse noise removal design for bayer pattern image sensor

Devices and methods for varying individual periods or cycle times of upconverted clock signals within a corresponding reference clock cycle are disclosed. In some embodiments, these varying cycle times may improve signal synchronization between the upconverted clock and the reference clock. In different embodiments, different types of counters and counting circuits keep track of the number of elapsed upconverted clock cycles in order to determine the specific upconverted clock cycles with longer cycle times. In some embodiments, a signal may be sent to a delay line to change the amount of delay between upconverted clock pulses, thereby increasing or decreasing a specific upconverted clock cycle time or period. In some embodiments the specific upconverted clock cycle(s) changed in each reference clock cycle may vary, which may further improve reconciliation between the upconverted clock cycles and the corresponding reference clock cycle.

In one embodiment, a configurable parameter storage unit comprising a parameter storage area configurable so as to store a plurality of parameters at least partially defining a desired plurality of waveform hierarchy elements, where the desired plurality of waveform hierarchy elements enable the definition of a waveform. In one embodiment, a method of constructing a waveform for a configurable timing generator, the method comprising acts of constructing a first pattern waveform, where the first pattern waveform comprises a first basic pulse, and constructing a first sequence waveform, where the first sequence waveform comprises a plurality of repetitions of the first pattern waveform.

A state machine circuit may be used to control a multiplexing circuit that selects and provides respective ones of multiple input clock signals to a clock-synthesizing circuit that generates a synthesized clock signal in response to such input clock signals. The state machine circuit may, for example, be configured so that the synthesized clock signal is a spread-spectrum clock signal and/or a clock signal having a nominal frequency that is greater than a nominal frequency of each of the input clock signals.
