Methods and apparatuses for coding and decoding mode information and electronic device. The method for coding includes determining a uniform transform block mode adopted by a coding block of an image; determining a binary bit to which the uniform transform block mode corresponds according to a size of the coding block and/or a determined number of uniform transform block modes; and coding the binary bit to which the uniform transform block mode corresponds into a bit stream of the image. Hence, for example, not only uniform transform block mode information may be coded and decoded, but also bit costs of coding may be lowered.

A generation circuit generates first palette information from a decoded image of a first block used for predicting second palette information of a second block in a coding target image when the first block has not received palette coding. A storage circuit stores the first palette information. A coding circuit performs prediction coding on the second palette information by using the first palette information so as to generate coded palette information.

The method includes: calculating a total bit length that is needed for compressing any one segment line and an ideal bit length that is needed for compressing any one segment; for each segment in any one segment line, acquiring a quantization parameter and a compression mode for compressing the segment and an actual bit length that is needed for compressing the segment by using the acquired quantization parameter and compression mode; distributing a redundancy bit length of one or more simple segments in the segment line to one or more complex segments in the segment line, and re-acquiring quantization parameters and compression modes for compressing every complex segment of the one or more complex segments; and compressing every segment in the segment line by using the acquired quantization parameters and compression modes.
