A method includes logically partitioning an antenna panel of a base station into multiple subpanels. The method also includes identifying multiple user groups for multi-user multiple-input multiple-output (MU-MIMO) spatial multiplexing, each user group comprising one or more user equipments (UEs). The method also includes assigning the user groups to the subpanels. The method also includes transmitting to the UEs via the subpanels, wherein each user group is served by one subpanel of the multiple subpanels.

A method for exposure level estimation, includes transmitting radar signals for object detection and communication signals for wireless communication operations. The method also includes identifying a location of an object relative to the electronic device within a first time duration based on the radar signals, the first time duration including a previous time until a current time. The method further includes determining a radio frequency (RF) exposure measurement associated with the object based on the location of the object over the first time duration. Additionally, the method includes determining a power density budget over a second time duration based on a comparison of the RF exposure measurement to an RF exposure threshold, the second time duration including the current time until a future time. A method for operating a base station (BS), includes determining, based on a wide-beam (WB) alignment procedure, a subset of beams for transmission of physical downlink shared control channels (PDSCHs). The method further includes transmitting a physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) indicating the subset of beams and transmitting the PDSCHs on the subset of beams, respectively, using a JPTA beamforming. The same data is included in each of the PDSCHs.

A method for allocating power of an electronic device, includes generating a power budget indicating an amount of available power for signal transmission and reception. The method also includes determining whether to prioritize communication signals or radar signals for allocating the available power of a battery. In response to a determination to prioritize the communication signals, the method includes allocating a first portion of the available power for the communication signals and a second portion of the of the available power for the radar signals. In response to a determination to prioritize the radar signals, the method includes allocating the first portion of the available power for the radar signals and the second portion of the of the available power for the communication signals. The method further includes transmitting the communication signals and the radar signals based on the allocation.

The SQMs correspond to reference signals, respectively. The reference signals correspond to candidate time slots (CTS), respectively. The method includes identifying a first set of reference signals in the plurality of reference signals based on the first set of SQMs satisfying a first quality condition. The method includes identifying a second set of reference signals in the plurality of reference signals based on the first set of SQMs satisfying a second quality condition. The method includes identifying, as first CTS for an electronic device to use for a radar operation, candidate time slots corresponding to the first set of reference signals. The method includes identifying, as second CTSs for the electronic device to use for wireless communication, CTSs corresponding to the second set of reference signals.

An electronic device includes a processor operably connected to a radar transceiver. The processor is configured to transmit, via the radar transceiver, radar signals to detect an object. The processor is also configured to detect the object using a single radar frame or multiple radar frames from the radar signals. The processor is further configured to determine whether to use the single radar frame or the multiple radar frames based on motion of the object for angle identification between the object and the electronic device. Additionally, the processor is configured to identify the angle using the single radar frame based on a determination to use the single radar frame or the multiple radar frames based on a determination to use the multiple radar frames. The processor is also configured to modify radio frequency exposure levels based on the angle of the object relative to the electronic device.
