The present disclosure relates to a method and a device for categorizing multimedia resources. The method includes: counting the numbers of icons for respective types of icons input by a user for a multimedia resource; and determining a category to which the multimedia resource belongs according to the numbers of the respective types of icons input for the multimedia resource.
