The present disclosure relates to a method performed by an occupant protection system of a vehicle for supporting protection of a vehicle occupant in the event of an ongoing or imminent collision. The occupant protection system comprises an airbag panel arrangement arranged in connection with a dashboard of the vehicle, which airbag panel arrangement comprises an inflatable airbag adapted to upon deployment protect lower body parts of a vehicle occupant seated in a vehicle seat facing the dashboard. The occupant protection system determines a distance in a predeterminable direction between the airbag panel arrangement or the dashboard and the vehicle seat or an occupant seated in the vehicle seat; determines that the distance exceeds a predeterminable maximum threshold value; determines that one or more conditions for deployment of the airbag is fulfilled; and displaces the airbag panel arrangement outwardly from the dashboard by means of a panel displacing system.

Protection of a vehicle occupant

The present disclosure relates to a seatbelt arrangement for a vehicle which comprises a seatbelt and a plurality of connection points, wherein a fourth connecting point is placed at a first lateral side of a vehicle seat and at an upper portion of a backrest. The disclosure also relates to a vehicle comprising a seatbelt arrangement and also to corresponding methods.

Vehicle seatbelt arrangement

An energy storage module for a vehicle includes an energy storage enclosure adapted to accommodate an energy storage cell, the energy storage enclosure having an enclosure wall, an optical sensor including an optical fiber, an optical receiver and an optical emitter, the optical fiber attached to an inner side of a first enclosure wall along a distance of a portion of the inner side. The optical receiver is configured to detect an optical signal transmitted through the optical fiber, and the optical sensor is configured to detect an alteration of the optical signal being indicative of a deformation.

Damage detection and warning system of a battery pack

An energy storage module arranged in a vehicle comprises an energy storage cell arranged in a casing, an inflatable element arranged between the casing and the energy storage cell and to at least partly cover a surface portion of the energy storage cell, and an inflating unit in communication with a detection unit arranged to determine a crash severity in the event of an accident for the vehicle. The inflating unit is arranged to inflate the inflatable element when the crash severity exceeds a predetermined threshold.
