A snap-on assembly includes a housing that holds an integrated circuit with a sensor. A connector supplies power to the integrated circuit and transmits a signal from the integrated circuit to an electronic circuit. An insert fits into an opening of the housing and secures a conductor in the housing without a mechanical fastener. The sensor measures a magnetic field resulting from a current traveling through the conductor.

Snap-on current sensor design

A differential signal current sensor device () may include a conductor () for conducting electrical current in a current direction. The conductor () may include a first slot (A) extending from a first perimeter edge (), towards a central axis extending along a length of the conductor (), and a second slot (B) extending from a second perimeter edge (), towards the central axis. The current sensor device () may further include a first current sensor () positioned within the first slot (A) and a second current sensor () positioned within the second slot (B).

Differential signal current sensor

A rotary position sensor () includes a sensor housing () defining an interior cavity. A first rotor () may be positioned and rotatable within the interior cavity, and the first rotor () may at least partially define a bore () to receive a shaft () and include a first magnet (). Furthermore, the rotary position sensor () may include a second rotor () positioned and rotatable within the interior cavity, and the second rotor () may at least partially define the bore () to receive the shaft () and include a second magnet (). A ring element () may be disposed in the sensor housing (), and the ring element () may be arranged between the first rotor () and the second rotor ().

A disclosed rotary position sensor may include a sensor housing defining an interior cavity. A first rotor may be positioned and rotatable within the interior cavity, the first rotor including a first magnet. Furthermore, the rotary position sensor may include a second rotor positioned and rotatable within the interior cavity, the second rotor including a second magnet. The first rotor and the second rotor may be individually rotatable.
