Provided herein is a method for identifying and correcting optical aberrations within a sample under optical microscopy. The method includes providing a plurality of optical beams including at least a first optical beam and a second optical beam; modulating at least one of the optical beams at one or more frequencies; providing a combined optical beam at least partially superimposed in time by the first optical beam and the second optical beam; focusing the combined optical beam into the sample; detecting a first signal excited by the combined optical beam in the sample; demodulating the first signal by at least one lock-in amplifier to obtain a second signal including performing a plurality of measurements of spatial positions of the first optical beam with respect to the second optical beam; identifying and correcting the optical aberrations by the second signal through obtaining the electric-field point spread function of the optical beams.

Methods and apparatus for in vivo high resolution multiphoton microscopy

The present subject matter relates to compounds that have aggregation-induced emission (AIE) characteristics and are capable of generating Raman signals in the Raman cell-silent region (1800 cm-2800 cm). The compounds can be used in dual-mode cell imaging by fluorescence and Raman microscopes.

Probe for dual-mode bio-imaging

Described herein is a novel 3-D optical imaging system based on active stereo vision and motion tracking for to tracking the motion of patient and for registering the time-sequenced images of suspicious lesions recorded during endoscopic or colposcopic examinations. The system quantifies the acetic acid induced optical signals associated with early cancer development. The system includes at least one illuminating light source for generating light illuminating a portion of an object, at least one structured light source for projecting a structured light pattern on the portion of the object, at least one camera for imaging the portion of the object and the structured light pattern, and means for generating a quantitative measurement of an acetic acid-induced change of the portion of the object.

Apparatus and method of optical imaging for medical diagnosis

Fluorescence imaging of tissue is used as a diagnostic tool in which geometric effects and specular reflections are compensated for by normalizing a fluorescence image with a cross-polarized image.
