Embodiments of this application provide a communication method between multi-link devices and an apparatus, and relate to the field of communications technologies, to reduce power consumption of a station multi-link device. The method includes: a multi-link device includes a plurality of STAs, one STA operates on one of a plurality of links, and the STA determines a primary link in the plurality of links. A STA operating on the primary link in the multi-link device may receive information sent by the AP indicating whether the STA operating on the primary link has a downlink traffic, and/or information indicating whether a STA operating on a link other than the primary link has a downlink traffic. Therefore, the STA operating on the primary link may determine a link on which the STA having a downlink traffic operates in the multi-link device.

Communication method between multi-link devices and apparatus

This application provides bandwidth indication methods and communication apparatuses and can be applied, for example, in a wireless local area network supporting IEEE 802.11be standard. In an example method, an access point generates a physical layer protocol data unit (PPDU), where a transmission bandwidth of the PPDU is divided into a plurality of segments, the PPDU includes a universal signal (U-SIG) field carried on a segment, the U-SIG field includes a bandwidth field, and the bandwidth field indicates a channel bandwidth of a resource unit allocated to a station parked in the segment. The access point sends the PPDU to the station.

Bandwidth indication method applied in wireless local area network and communication apparatus

This application provides a resource unit combination indication method and a communications apparatus. The method includes: determining a physical layer protocol data unit PPDU, where the PPDU includes a signal field, the signal field includes a resource unit allocation subfield and a combination indication corresponding to the resource unit allocation subfield, the resource unit allocation subfield indicates a plurality of resource units, and the combination indication indicates combination information of the plurality of resource units; and sending the PPDU. The method provided in this application can support one or more users in transmitting data by using a plurality of contiguous or discontiguous RUs, and indicate a combination status of the plurality of RUs to the user.

Resource unit combination indication method and communications apparatus

An information receiving method and apparatus, and an information sending method and apparatus are disclosed. The information receiving method includes: A terminal device receives first configuration information from a network device, where the first configuration information carries precoding indication information of each resource unit of N resource units allocated to the terminal device; and the terminal device performs precoding processing on uplink data carried on each resource unit by a precoding matrix corresponding to the precoding indication information of each resource unit, based on the first configuration information. In this method, the terminal device determines, based on the precoding indication information, a quantity N and sizes of the resource units obtained through division.

According to the method provided in the embodiments of this application, the transmit end explicitly indicates that the PPDU is a PPDU used for radar testing rather than a PPDU used for communication between communications devices. When a receive end receives the PPDU, the receive end no longer monitors a channel, thereby reducing power consumption of the receive end.

This application describes resource unit indication methods, access points, and a stations. In an example method, a resource unit allocation subfield in a trigger frame includes a frequency band range indication and a resource unit indication. The resource unit indication is used to indicate a multiple resource unit (MRU) allocated to a station. The frequency band range indication is used to indicate a frequency band range in which a resource unit (RU) in the MRU is located. For example, the frequency band range indication is used to indicate 80 MHz in which a smallest RU in the MRU is located. The described techniques can be applied to, for example, 802.11ax, 802.11be, and future Wi-Fi systems.

This application discloses a data transmission method that includes: scrambling to-be-transmitted data, to obtain scrambled data; and sending the scrambled data to a receive device. The initialization bits of a scrambler used to scramble the data include a first bit sequence and a second bit sequence. The first bit sequence is carried in a service field of the to-be-transmitted data, the second bit sequence reuses a bit in a signal field of a physical layer protocol data unit (PPDU), and the quantity of the initialization bits is equal to the order of the scrambler. In embodiments of this application, when the transmit device and the receive device use the scrambler with a higher order than that in the conventional technology, the initialization bits of the scrambler are based on bits in an existing service field used for data scrambling and reused bits in some signal fields.
