In an example method, a resource unit allocation subfield in a trigger frame includes a frequency band range indication and a resource unit indication. The frequency band range indication is used to indicate a frequency band range in which a resource unit (RU) in the MRU is located. For example, the frequency band range indication is used to indicate 80 MHz in which a smallest RU in the MRU is located.
