An apparatus to perform fast data access comprises a receiver, a processor, and a memory. The processor receives using the receiver a light signal from a light source. The light signal can be structured to generate a temporal code. The light source is an optical beacon that includes a Light-Emitting Diode (LED). The processor then decodes the light signal to generate a network address, and causes a display of a client device coupled to the apparatus to display information based on the network address. The network address can be a Uniform Resource Locator (URL) address and the information based on the network address includes a webpage associated with the URL. Fast data accessing system using optical beacons

An energy-efficient adaptive 3D sensing system. The adaptive 3D sensing system includes one or more cameras and one or more projectors. The adaptive 3D sensing system captures images of a real-world scene using the one or more cameras and computes depth estimates and depth estimate confidence values for pixels of the images. The adaptive 3D sensing system computes an attention mask based on the one or more depth estimate confidence values and commands the one or more projectors to send a distributed laser beam into one or more areas of the real-world scene based on the attention mask. The adaptive 3D sensing system captures 3D sensing image data of the one or more areas of the real-world scene and generates 3D sensing data for the real-world scene based on the 3D sensing image data.

Energy-efficient adaptive 3D sensing

Systems and methods are provided for: receiving an image containing a code that has one or more visual qualities that fail to satisfy respective thresholds; applying a trained machine learning model to find a rough location of the code by generating a bounding box and cropping out the portion of the image; applying another trained machine learning model to the portion of the image to estimate key point locations of the code depicted in the portion of the image, aligning the portion of the image that depicts the code based on the estimated key point locations; and decoding, by the other trained machine learning model, the aligned portion of the image that depicts the code.

Long distance QR code decoding

An apparatus that comprises a camera opening that couples to a camera lens of a camera and a viewfinder collocated with the camera opening. The viewfinder comprises a mirror coupled to an aperture having a width and a height. The mirror is recessed into the apparatus at a depth defined by a height of the aperture. The width and the height of the aperture being based on a field of view of the camera. The viewfinder having a field of view that approximates the field of view of the camera for a range of viewing angles. Other embodiments are described herein.
