A communication system includes a first device comprising a transmitter transmitting a time domain signal comprising a plurality of symbols originating from a bitstream, a second device comprising a receiver receiving the plurality of symbols in the time domain. The receiver has a fast Fourier transform module performing a fast Fourier transform on the symbols to form a frequency domain signal, a gain control module coupled to the fast Fourier transform module subjecting the frequency domain signal to a gain, an inverse fast Fourier transform module coupled to the gain control module inverse transforming the frequency domain signal to a time domain signal comprising a plurality of symbols and a demapping and channel decoding module forming the bitstream from the plurality of symbols.

A control system for conducting an election may include a voter client configured to be used by a voter to cast a vote for a candidate, a registrar server, and a moderator server. The moderator server may be configured to obscure the identity of the voter. The registrar server may be configured to randomly assign a ballot to the obscured voter. The registrar server may be configured to encrypt the ballot. The moderator server may be configured to transmit the encrypted ballot to the voter client. The voter client may be configured to decrypt the encrypted ballot to recover the ballot. The voter client, in response to the voter selecting a desired candidate, may be configured to generate a ballot associated with a vote. The voter client may be configured to encrypt the ballot using a public key of the registrar server and a public key of the moderator server.

A securely pre-coded orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (SP-OFDM) system includes a transmitter configured to transmit a secure transmit signal through a dynamic constellation and a receiver configured to recover the original signal from the received secure transmit signal. Systems and methods of the present invention provide for one or more server computers communicatively coupled to a network and configured to: receive a request to execute a computational task, including a transformed input used to execute a computational task. A client computer transforms the original input into the transformed input, using an affine mapping where the transformed input is a one-to-one equivalent to the original input (but which can't be inferred by the server computer), and according to a user selection limiting the computational complexity of the mapping according to resource constraints on the client. The server may then execute the computational task and transmit a result to the client to apply an inverse affine mapping, and receive a response which verifies that the computational task result is complete and valid.

Systems and methods provide for one or more server computers communicatively coupled to a network and configured to: generate a code construction for a file, including layers, each at a different code rate; calculate optimized code parameters, including storage efficiency, error-correction capability parameters, and constraints on error patterns; use the plurality of layers and optimized parameters to encode the file on a physical storage media; detect an error on the physical storage media; identify an error location within a first layer encoded at a first code rate; mark the error location as an erasure; and identify the erasure and a second error location for a second error location within a second layer, higher than the first layer, encoded at a second code rate.

A method for defense against primary user emulation attacks in cognitive radio networks includes the steps of generating an advanced encryption standard (AES)-encrypted reference signal with a transmitter for transmitting to at least one receiver. The method also includes the steps of allowing a shared secret between the transmitter and the at least one receiver and regenerating the reference signal at the at least one receiver and using the regenerated reference signal to achieve accurate identification of authorized primary users as well as malicious users.
