An electrical connector includes: an insulative housing having a base portion; a number of conductive terminals affixed to the insulative housing and arranged in two rows, each conductive terminal comprising a contacting portion, and each row of conductive terminals comprising a pair of grounding terminals and a number of internal terminals located between the pair of grounding terminals; a metal shielding plate affixed to the insulative housing and sandwiched between the two rows of conductive terminals; and a main shell enclosing the insulative housing; wherein a distance between the contacting portions of the internal terminals and the metal shielding plate is greater than a distance between the contacting portions of the grounding terminals and the metal shielding plate.

An electrical connector includes: an insulative housing comprising a base portion and a tongue portion extending forwardly from the base portion; a number of upper and low terminals mounted in the insulative housing and exposed to an upper surface and a lower surface of the tongue portion, the upper terminals and the lower terminals being equal in number, both the upper terminals and the lower terminals comprising five intermediate terminals arranged centrally in succession and one grounding terminal spaced from the five intermediate terminals by two terminal positions, each of the five intermediate terminals having a reserved space for not arranging a terminal, the five intermediate terminals comprising an auxiliary terminal; and a shielding plate disposed between the upper terminals and the lower terminals.

Electrical connector having an improved terminal

An electrical connector includes: an insulative housing having a base and a tongue; an upper and lower rows of contacts mounted in the insulative housing and exposed to an upper and lower surfaces of the tongue, the upper row of contacts and the lower row of contacts being equal in number; and an auxiliary contact disposed among the upper row of contacts. The upper rows of contacts and the lower row of contacts and a metallic shielding sheet are integrally formed within an insulator via a one shot initial insert-molding process to form an initial module. Some of the contacts are equipped with ears viewable upon the corresponding surface of the tongue.

An electrical connector includes a number of first contacts and a number of second contacts, an insulative housing, a shielding plate, and a metallic shell. The insulative housing has a base portion, a tongue portion, and a number of receiving grooves running through the base portion to the tongue portion. The tongue portion defines a first surface and a second surface. The receiving grooves are exposed on the first surface and the second surface. The insulative housing, the second contacts, and the shielding plate are insert-molded to form a contact module, and the first contacts are assembled to the receiving grooves.

An electrical connector includes: an insulative housing including a base and a tongue; an upper and lower rows of contacts secured in the insulative housing and exposed to the tongue; a shielding shell enclosing the insulative housing; and a metal plate situated between the upper row of contacts and the lower rows of contacts; wherein the shielding shell is integrally formed with the metal plate. A related method of making such an electrical connector includes the steps of: inserting a first and second terminal modules into a first and second receiving spaces of a shielding shell, respectively, from a rear of the shielding shell; and insert molding the first and second terminal modules with a planar portion of a metal plate integral with the shielding shell.

Electrical connector having an outer shielding shell integral with an intermediate metal plate

An electrical connector includes an insulative housing, a number of contacts, a shielding plate, and a metallic shell. The insulative housing defines a number of contact-receiving grooves and a number of through holes connecting with adjacent contact-receiving grooves. The contacts include a number of first contacts having connecting sections, at least one connecting section of the first contacts has a first bending section bent along a direction away from the contiguous first contact to form an enlarged gap for increasing a distance between the adjacent first contacts. The insulative housing, the shielding plate and the contacts are molded to form a contact module. The enlarged gap and the corresponding through hole are connected together.

An electrical connector includes an insulative housing, a number of terminals retained in the insulative housing, a shielding shell attached to the insulative housing, and an insulator insert-molded with a rear end of the shielding shell. The terminals have a number of soldering portions extending out of a rear surface of the insulative housing. The shielding shell has a tail portion located at a rear end thereof. The insulator at least wraps partly an external surface of the tail portion to seal up a rear end of the insulative housing and extend the soldering portions of the terminals through the insulator to expose a rear surface thereof.

A power connector includes: an insulative housing having an upper surface, a lower surface, and a receiving space; a number of contacts accommodated in the insulative housing, the contact having a contacting portion, a rear portion accommodated in a rear end of the insulative housing, and a snakelike elastic portion connecting the contacting portion and the rear portion, the snakelike elastic portion having a number of vertical bending sections and a number of connecting sections each connecting every two adjacent bending sections, wherein the vertical dimension of the intersecting surface of the bending section is greater than the vertical dimension of the intersecting surface of the connecting section.
