A device may receive information associated with media content that is capable of being provided by a first content delivery network and a second content delivery network. The first content delivery network may include a first host device and a second host device. The device may determine scores associated with the first content delivery network and the second content delivery network. The device may provide, based on the scores, information regarding the first content delivery to a user device to cause the user device to request the media content from the first content delivery network. The device may determine scores associated with the first host device and the second host device. The device may provide information regarding the first host device to a network device to cause the network device to route requests for the media content to the first host device.

Content delivery network streaming optimization

A first device may receive an error log relating to an error associated with accessing content that is associated with a toll-free data campaign. The error log may include information identifying the error. The first device may determine a cause of the error based on the error log. The first device may determine an updated status of the content or the toll-free data campaign. The first device may generate an error explanation based on the cause of the error and the updated status. The error explanation may identify the cause of the error or the updated status. The first device may cause the error explanation to be provided to a second device that is associated with the error log.

Failure detection and logging for a toll-free data service

A device can receive, from a user device, a hypertext transfer protocol (HTTP) CONNECT request associated with a toll-free data service. The user device can establish a first transmission control protocol (TCP) connection with a proxy server. The HTTP CONNECT request can request the proxy server to establish a second TCP connection with a content provider server. The device can determine, based on the HTTP CONNECT request, that an authorization condition is satisfied. The device can store information associated with a flow between the user device and the content provider server. The user device and the content provider server can establish a transport layer security (TLS) connection based on the first TCP connection and the second TCP connection. The device can provide the information associated with the flow to permit an account of an entity to be adjusted in association with the toll-free data service.

Enabling hypertext transfer protocol (HTTP) connect in association with a toll-free data service

A device can receive, from a set of storage devices, first information relating to one or more pilot data plans that are associated with one or more first groups of user devices. The device can receive, from the set of storage devices, second information relating to one or more live data plans that are associated with one or more second groups of user devices. The device can analyze the first information and/or the second information to identify one or more patterns of information. The one or more patterns can include a data usage pattern, a demographic information pattern, a revenue generation pattern, and/or a user interest pattern. The device can perform one or more actions, including generating a new data plan, identifying one or more user accounts as candidates for a new data plan, and/or transmitting, via a network, information relating to the new data plan.

Analyzing big data to determine a data plan

A method, a device, and a non-transitory storage medium are described in which a connection service is provided based on a software development kit architecture for an end device that operates with an Android operating system. The connection service includes a library that, when called, sets-up a Hypertext Transfer Protocol connection between the end device and a proxy device using a function pointer and a portable operating system interface connect function. The connection service also generates and transmits a Hypertext Transfer Protocol CONNECT message, which includes a Proxy-Authorization header, to the proxy device, which triggers three-way handshaking between the proxy device and a target device, subsequent to an establishment of the connection with the proxy device.

A device may determine a resource identifier for accessing a segment of streaming media content. The device may determine that a signature associated with the resource identifier is not stored in memory. The signature may be generated based on a character string of the resource identifier. The device may request validation of the resource identifier based on determining that the signature is not in memory. The device may receive the signature associated with the resource identifier based on requesting validation. The device may store the signature based on receiving the signature. The device may request the segment of streaming media content using the resource identifier and the signature, stored in memory, to receive toll-free access to the segment of streaming media content.

Validating toll-free access to streaming media content using a signature

A device may receive, from a user device, a hypertext transfer protocol (HTTP) CONNECT request that includes a uniform resource locator (URL). The device may determine, using a data structure, whether the URL is a sponsored URL or a non-sponsored URL. The data structure may include one or more sponsored URLs associated with a toll-free data service campaign. The device may establish an HTTP CONNECT tunnel for transferring traffic, associated with the URL, between the user device and another device. The device may monitor data use, associated with the HTTP CONNECT tunnel, based on determining whether the URL is a sponsored URL or a non-sponsored URL. The device may generate a traffic information record based on monitoring the data use, and the device may provide the traffic information record to the user device.

Toll-free data simulation via an HTTP connect tunnel

A device can be configured to receive a transmission control protocol (TCP) packet from a user device and determine, based on data included in a header portion of the TCP packet, that the TCP packet includes a toll-free token. The toll-free token included in the TCP packet can be identified, an entity associated with the toll-free token can be identified, and an action can be performed based on the entity.

A mobile device analyzes data associated with media handled by a cast device connected to a display device. The mobile device causes control signals to be sent, via the one or more communication interfaces, to one of multiple different devices in a room to change an operational parameter associated with the one of the multiple different devices.

A device intercepts a request from a requesting device, and the request includes a network address or a universal resource locator (URL) for content. The device determines whether special handling is applicable when forwarding the content to the requesting device. The device establishes a session between the content device and the requesting device, and the session exchanges data via a pathway that includes a proxy. The proxy identifies data, including the requested content, exchanged in the session and determines whether the special handling was used when forwarding the data. The proxy forwards reporting data identifying the exchanged data and indicating whether the special handling was used when exchanging the data through the session.

Proxy for monitoring special handling of content within a service network

A native content handler in a user device, such as a smart phone, determines whether requested content may by delivered using special handling, such as prioritized or sponsored access. A listener of the content handler determines whether special handling may possibly be applicable to the content, and the listener modifies a universal resource locator (URL) associated with the content to mark the URL. An agent portion of the content handler exchanges data with a validation device to determine whether the user device is actually eligible to receive the content with the special handling. If the user device is eligible, the agent uses data provided by the validation device to obtain the content using the special handling.

Agent-based passive streaming

A device may receive hash values generated based on resource identifiers. The resource identifiers may be associated with a toll free data service and may be associated with a file size threshold for accessing the toll-free data service. The device may identify a request to access content using a resource identifier and may generate a hash value based on the resource identifier. The device may compare the generated hash value and the received hash values. The device may request the content selectively using a toll-free resource identifier or a non-toll-free resource identifier based on comparing the generated hash value and the received hash values.

File size-based toll-free data service

Methods and devices provide access to a sponsored data service (SDS) from a mobile device. A method may include generating a play media command that includes a remote media address and an SDS identifier, and converting the remote media address into a local media address. The method may further include requesting media from an internal content server via the local media address, where the internal content server resides within the mobile device. The method may include determining if the requested media is stored on the internal content server, obtaining the requested media from the internal content server upon determining that the requested media is stored within the internal content server, and playing the requested media on a mobile media player.

Mobile media architecture for sponsored data services

A device can determine a set of average vehicle entry rates using traffic data associated with an intersection and can determine a set of average vehicle wait time values. The device can generate one or more data structures that include a set of state values that include the set of average vehicle entry rates and a set of transition values. The device can generate a prediction data structure that associates the set of state values with a set of traffic light cycle time values and one or more customer satisfaction rating values. The device can determine a current state value. The device can identify a state value and a traffic light cycle time value that is associated with a highest customer satisfaction rating. The device can provide the traffic light cycle time value to a traffic controller.

Analyzing big data to manage traffic flow

A device determines a connection status of a Public Land Mobile Network (PLMN) communication interface and a wireless Local Area Network (LAN) communication interface, and stores the connection status in a queue. The device waits, subsequent to storing the connection status, for expiration of a time delay; and retrieves, subsequent to the expiration of the time delay, the connection status or another connection status from the queue. The device sends, based on the retrieved connection status or the other connection status, a service validation request to a server associated with the PLMN, and receives from the server, in response to the service validation request, a validation response that authorizes service delivery to the device via a PLMN.
