An electro-optic device is provided that includes a first substrate having an inner surface and an outer surface; a first electrode provided at the inner surface of the first substrate; a second substrate having an inner surface and an outer surface, wherein the inner surface of the second substrate faces the inner surface of the first substrate; a second electrode provided at the inner surface of the second substrate; and an electro-optic medium provided between the inner surfaces of the first and second substrates. The first electrode includes a metal mesh formed from metal tracings and having open areas between the metal tracings; and a first transparent conductive coating electrically coupled to the metal mesh and extending at least between the metal tracings so as to extend across the open areas.

A switchable device is provided. The switchable device includes an electro-optic element switchable between a darkened state and a transmissive state in addition to a sensor having a field of view at least partially defined by a perimeter portion of the electro-optic element. The darkened state is configured to mask the sensor and visibly match the perimeter portion.

The disclosure provides for an electrochromic element comprising a first substrate and a second substrate. The first substrate comprises a first surface and a second surface. The second substrate comprises a third surface and a fourth surface. The first substrate and the second substrate form a cavity have an electrochromic medium disposed therein. A dielectric coating is disposed on the fourth surface and is configured to provide for improved transmittance of the electrochromic element in the near infrared (NIR) range, wherein the near infrared transmittance exceeds the visible transmittance.

The disclosure provides an electro-optic device. The device comprises a first substrate comprising a first surface and a second surface. The device further comprises a second substrate comprising a third surface and a fourth surface. The first substrate and the second substrate form a cavity between the second surface and the third surface. An electrochromic medium is disposed in the cavity. A transflective coating is disposed at the third surface, wherein the transflective coating comprises a multi-layer stack comprising alternating high-index (H) material and low-index (L) material.
