According to one aspect of the present disclosure, a method for handover in a radio access network is provided, wherein the method includes receiving, by a user equipment (UE), a handover pre-configuration message from a source node serving the UE in the radio access network, the handover pre-configuration message including handover information of a target node in the radio access network, receiving, by the UE, an activation command from the source node after receiving the handover pre-configuration message, and transmitting, by the UE, an access request message to the target node in accordance with the handover information in response to receiving the activation command.

Example methods for communicating based on route prediction and pre-preparation in a wireless network are provided. One example method includes determining, by a network entity, a predicted time of entering and a predicted duration of stay of a user equipment (UE) in each cell of a plurality of cells according to a predicted route of the UE, the predicted route including predicted UE locations at corresponding predicted times. The network entity can then determine mobility prediction information according to the predicted time of entering and the predicted duration of stay of the UE in each cell of the plurality of cells. By deploying small public 'guard' cells in the macro cell proximate to the private HeNB cells, such a public mobile terminal is enabled to communicate with the public small cell at generally lower power than would have been necessary for communication with the distant macro eNB, with a resulting reduction in interference for the nearby HeNB cell. The FL interference between the macro cell and the HeNBs is also mitigated.

Method and apparatus for interference management in heterogenous networks

A content adapter receives a request from a first user equipment to receive a unicast service via a base station and determines that the base station is providing the unicast service to a second user equipment using a service identifier. The content adapter transmits a signal instructing the base station to allocate the service identifier to the first user equipment for receiving the unicast service concurrently with the second user equipment. The invention provides a method of pattern-based message transmission. The method can predetermine a transmission pattern for the message transmission between a base station and a user equipment according to a service type, an equipment identifier, and etc., of the equipment and can hereby determine a transmission process of signaling and data and thus can handle the remaining transmission of either signaling or data to be performed in the predetermined pattern, which means that scheduling resources can be greatly saved and thus signaling overheads and the resource consumption can be greatly reduced. With an optimized design of a pattern, an acknowledgement message and subsequent signalings and/or data could be encapsulated in a same data packet for transmission and reception, thereby resources are further saved. This improves the efficiency of utilizing signaling greatly in general, reduces signaling overheads, and also facilitates various communication between other users in the cell, improves the efficiency of economy and saves cost.
