The invention relates a powder material consisting of coated particles for a powder-based rapid generative prototyping methods, in particular by compressing a 3D binder. Said powder material consists of individual plastic, metal and/or ceramic particles and/or granules. A coating essentially consists of an adhesive agent which can be activated by a liquid binder, light or laser light, and of sinterable or glass-forming fine-grained material. Said invention also relates to a method for compressing 3D binder with the aid of an organic solvent having a water content less than 45% and to sintered bodies, in particular for moulding or precision mechanical engineering, which are fixed to each other by sintering or glass formation from a fine grained material.

The invention relates to a method for coating particles of a plastic, metal and/or ceramic powder material for producing an adhesive-containing coating material, in particular for producing appropriate particles by compressing a 3D binder. Said coating is applied to fluidized particles in a gaseous phase by means of a coating solution, at least the particles and/or coated particles being exposed to ionized particles. A method for producing bodies or sintered bodies from organic liquid binders by compressing the 3D binder and the use thereof are also disclosed.

A material system for use in a 3D-printing, which exhibits a higher form stability. The material system contains binder and solvent as well as optional filler materials. The binder is soluble in the solvent, as well as two complementary polyelectrolytes, and/or an initiator for a cross linking reaction of the binder. The advantage of such a mixed material system is comprised in the essentially higher binder force between the individual particles. This enhanced binder force results either from the acid-base linkages, which form between the complementary polyelectrolytes, or from the supplemental networking initiated by the initiators, or from both. Substantially higher binding forces between the individual particles means at the same time a substantially higher shape stability of the 3D-printing product.

The invention concerns a process for producing a mold, wherein a hollow space is formed within a rigid mold frame ( ) which corresponds to the shape of the component to be produced. The present invention relates to a method and a device for selective laser sintering in which powder is introduced in layers into a jacketed design space, forming a powder cake which is consolidated layerwise by laser radiation. The design space is encircled and heated by a jacket heating device.

A device and process for sintering a powder with a laser beam, and in particular, a rapid prototyping process involving selective laser sintering (SLS), with reduction in non-homogeneities, i.e., grooves or hollows due to complete melting of powder or poor material characteristics due to insufficient melting of powder. The problem is solved by a process and a device for homogenization of the temperature distribution in the part during its manufacture. For this, the temperature of the sinter powder is detected in the sinter point and the power of the laser is controlled depending upon the detected temperature. Geometric changes of the moveable detection area, as well as the changes in the chromatic adjustment, and beam correcting errors, all of which occur depending upon the position of the detection area on the upper surface of the powder bed, are taken into consideration. Thereby a more realistic determination of the temperature values is made possible from the measured temperature values.
