An anode material having 0.8≤0.06×(Dv50)−2.5×Dv50+Dv99≤12 (1); and 1.2≤0.2×Dv50−0.006×(Dv50)+BET≤5 (2), where Dv50 represents a value in the volume-based particle size distribution of the anode material that is greater than the particle size of 50% of the particles, Dv99 represents a value in the volume-based particle size distribution of the anode material that is greater than the particle size of 99% of the particles, and BET is a specific surface area of the anode material, wherein Dv50 and Dv99 are expressed in μm and BET is expressed in m/g. The anode material is capable of significantly improving the rate performance of electrochemical devices.

An anode including a current collector and an anode active material layer disposed on the current collector are provided. The anode active material layer includes first oriented particles having a first tilt angle θinclined with respect to the direction parallel to the current collector, and second oriented particles having a second tilt angle θinclined with respect to the direction parallel to the current collector. The first tilt angle θand the second tilt angle θare different and both not greater than 70°.

A negative active material includes a carbon material. The carbon material satisfies the following relationship: 6<Gr/K<16, Gr is a graphitization degree of the carbon material, measured by means of X-ray diffraction; and K is a ratio Id/Ig of a peak intensity Id of the carbon material at a wavenumber of 1250 cmto 1650 cmto a peak intensity Ig of the carbon material at a wavenumber of 1500 cmto 1650 cm, and is measured by using Raman spectroscopy, and K is 0.06 to 0.15. The negative active material according to this application can significantly improve an energy density, cycle performance, and rate performance of the electrochemical device.
