A server rack configured to provide electrical connections with data storage modules upon contact includes a shell and a slide rail module slidably installed on the shell. The shell includes a power supply module. The slide rail module itself is electrically conductive and provided with a cable at each end. The cables are connected with the power supply module and the data storage module, and the data storage module is electrically connected with the power supply module.

Server rack

A server rack includes a shell and a plurality of brackets configured to receive a plurality of data storages. The data storages are electrically connected to the bracket. The shell includes a power supply module configured to provide power to the data storages, and an adapter plate connected with the power supply module through a cable. The bracket is electrically connected to a connecting device. When the bracket is slid in the shell, the connecting device closely contacts the adapter plate to be electrically connected with the adapter plate, and the data storages are thus electrically connected with the power supply module.

A server rack able to maintain electrical connections to its components during replacements includes a shell and brackets for data storage devices. The data storage devices are electrically connected to the bracket. The shell includes a power supply module and a connecting device electrically connected to the power supply module. The connecting device includes a resilient ring and a cable, one end of the cable is secured on the resilient ring, and the other end of the cable is electrically connected to the bracket. When the bracket is slid in the shell, the resilient ring elastically deforms to release cable or take back the slack cable, to maintain the electrical connections at all times.

A fan module includes a receiving rack, a number of mounting members, a number of fans, and a number of fastening members. The receiving rack includes two side plates and a number of receiving spaces between the side plates. A top side of each side plate corresponding to one receiving space defines two cutouts. Each mounting member is latched in one corresponding cutout of the receiving rack. Each fan is received in one corresponding receiving space of the receiving rack. The fastening members are arranged on the fans and are latched in the mounting members.

Fan module

A cable management apparatus includes a guide rail, a number of slide members slidably mounted to the guide rail, and a number of cable supports. Each of the cable supports includes two arms hinged to each other. Each of the arms forms a first end and a second end. The first end of the former one of two neighboring cable supports and the second end of the latter cable support are rotatably connected to the slide member between the neighboring cable supports. The first end of the last cable support is connected to the guide rail. The cable supports are unfolded with the slide members sliding forwards along the guide rail to spread a cable rested on the cable supports. The cable supports are folded with the slide members sliding rearwards along the guide rail to wind up the cable.

Cable management apparatus

A data storage device is inserted in an information handling apparatus, and is prevented from being accidently disconnecting from the information handling apparatus by an locking mechanism. The locking mechanism includes a frame receiving the data storage device, and a retainer mounted to the frame, and comprising two resilient arms extending out of the frame to be correspondingly secured in two retaining holes defined in the information handling apparatus.

Locking mechanism and information handling system using the same

A mounting apparatus is provided for a data storage device. The mounting apparatus includes a mounting bracket receiving the data storage device, and a number of vibration absorbing members attached to opposite sides of the data storage device. Two sliding slots are respectively defined in opposite sidewalls of the mounting bracket. Each of the vibration absorbing members includes a fastener engaged with a corresponding side of the data storage device, a supporter slidably received in a corresponding sliding slot of the mounting bracket, and a damping body sandwiched between the fastener and the supporter.

A slide rail assembly includes a first rail, a second rail slidably received in the first rail, a mounting bracket fixed to the second rail, a positioning member movably mounted to the mounting bracket, and a releasing member slidably mounted to the second rail. The first rail includes a holding portion. The positioning member engages with the holding portion to prevent the second rail from sliding into or out of the first rail. By sliding the releasing member, the releasing member drives the positioning member to disengage from the holding portion of the first rail, thereby enabling the second rail to slide into or out of the first rail.

Slide rail assembly

A mounting apparatus is provided for holding a data storage device. The mounting apparatus includes a bracket to receive the data storage device, and a latching unit. The bracket includes a first side plate. The latching unit includes a fixing tray fixed to the first side plate, a sliding member slidably mounted in the fixing tray, and a pushing member pivotably mounted to the fixing tray. The pushing member includes a pressed portion operable of resisting against the sliding member, and a moving portion to abut against the data storage device. When the sliding member is slid in the fixing tray to move the pressed portion, the pushing member is rotated. Therefore, the moving portion is rotated to eject the data storage device from the bracket.

Mounting apparatus for data storage device

An enclosure of an electronic device includes a chassis defining an opening, a cover attached to the chassis to shield the opening of the chassis, and a latch apparatus mounted to the cover to lock the cover to the chassis. The latch apparatus includes a driving mechanism, a first latch mechanism, and a second latch mechanism. The first and the second latch mechanisms are connected to the driving mechanisms. The driving mechanism is manipulated to operate the first latch mechanism to engage with a first edge of the chassis, and drive the second latch mechanism to engage with a second edge of the chassis.

Enclosure for electronic device

An enclosure includes a main body, a cover for covering the main body, a movable member movably attached to an inner surface of the main body, and a latch member. The main body defines a through hole. The cover defines a through hole aligning with the through hole of the main body. The movable member defines a locking hole. The locking hole includes a small part and a large part communicating with the small part. The movable member is moved to align the large part of the locking hole with the through hole of the second sidewall. The latch member extends through the through hole of the cover, the through hole of the second sidewall, and the large part of the locking hole. The movable member then is restored, thereby the latch portion engaging in the small part of the locking hole.

Electronic device enclosure

An exemplary holder for a hard disk drive includes a mounting frame and a handle. The mounting frame includes a first mounting arm, a second mounting arm, a connecting arm, and a clipping assembly. One end of the handle is pivotally connected with one end of the connecting arm. The clipping assembly is attached at another end of the connecting arm. The clipping assembly includes a base, a button, a elastic member and a sliding member. The button is slidable in the connecting arm. The resilient member is located between and abuts against the button and the base. One end of the sliding member is pivotally connected with the connecting arm. Another end of the sliding member is slidably connected with the button. The sliding member defines a locking groove, and the other end of the handle forms a locking hook received in the locking groove of the sliding member.

Hard disk drive holder

A mounting apparatus receives a data storage device with a plurality of posts. The mounting apparatus includes a bracket, and a latching unit mounted to the bracket. The latching unit includes a fixing tray, a sliding member slidably mounted in the fixing tray, and a resisting member mounted to the sliding member and resisting the post. When the sliding member is slid in the fixing tray along a first direction to resist the resisting member, the resisting member is moved into the fixing tray along a second direction perpendicular to the first direction. When the sliding member is slid in the fixing tray along a third direction opposite to the first direction, the resisting member is moved outside the fixing tray along a fourth direction opposite to the second direction.

A data storage device is inserted in an information handling apparatus, and is prevented from being accidentally disconnected from the information handling apparatus by a locking mechanism. The locking mechanism includes a frame receiving the data storage device, and a retainer mounted to the frame. The retainer includes two resilient arms extending out of the frame to be correspondingly secured in two retaining holes defined in the information handling apparatus.

A mounting apparatus for fixing an expansion card to a circuit board, includes a mounting member fixed on the circuit board, and a locking member. The mounting member includes a pivot portion and a mounting portion formed on two ends thereof respectively. A hook extends from the pivot portion. The locking member includes a connecting portion and a latch portion formed on two ends thereof respectively. A notch is defined in the connecting portion. The locking member is pivotably connected to the mounting member via the connecting portion of the locking member connecting to the pivot portion of the mounting member. The latch portion is capable of being inserted in the mounting portion to fix the expansion card to the supporter. The hook is capable of engaging in the notch to confine the locking member relative to the mounting member.
