A multi-processor system performs thermal-aware task scheduling and task migration. Based on temperature measurements, the system determines one or more thermal conditions of each processor. The thermal conditions include a present temperature, a historical temperature, a predicted temperature, and thermal headroom of the processor. A scheduler identifies a target processor among the processors based on, at least in part, the one or more thermal conditions of each processor, and assigns a task to be executed by the target processor. For task migration, the system detects that a source processor satisfies a task migration criterion by comparing one or more of the thermal conditions of the source processor with corresponding thresholds. The scheduler identifies a target processor based on, at least in part, one or more of the thermal conditions of each processor, and migrates a task from the source processor to the target processor for execution.

Thermal-aware task scheduling

A computing system performs shared cache allocation to allocate cache resources to groups of tasks. The computing system monitors the bandwidth at a memory hierarchy device that is at a next level to the cache in a memory hierarchy of the computing system. The computing system estimates a change in dynamic power from a corresponding change in the bandwidth before and after the cache resources are allocated. The allocation of the cache resources are adjusted according to an allocation policy that receives inputs including the estimated change in the dynamic power and a performance indication of task execution.

Dynamic cache resource allocation for quality of service and system power reduction

A system performs adaptive thermal ceiling control at runtime. The system includes computing circuits and a thermal management module. When detecting a runtime condition change that affects power consumption in the system, the thermal management module determines an adjustment to the thermal ceiling of a computing circuit, and increases the thermal ceiling of the computing circuit according to the adjustment.

A multi-processor system includes multiple processors arranged in multiple clusters. Different clusters have different power and performance characteristics. The system includes a task scheduler to schedule tasks to the processors. The task scheduler, in response to detection of a scheduling event trigger, is operative to identify a scheduling objective between a first objective of energy optimization and a second objective of load balance. The scheduling objective is identified based on at least respective operating frequencies and loading of all processors in a highest-capacity cluster of the multiple clusters. According to the identified scheduling objective, the task scheduler schedules a given task to a processor selected among the processors in the multiple clusters.

Switch policy for hybrid scheduling in multi-processor systems

A multi-cell coordination system and a channel calibration method thereof are provided. A reference apparatus receives a beam-precoding downlink reference signal via a directional beam from a base station. The base station receives a beam-precoding uplink reference signal via the directional beam from the reference apparatus. The server receives uplink and downlink channel information, where the uplink channel information is generated based on the uplink reference signal, and the downlink channel information is generated based on the downlink reference signal. The server obtains a channel calibration coefficient according to the uplink and downlink channel information. The channel calibration coefficient is used for estimating a downlink channel. Accordingly, the problem of conventional coordination system can be solved, and the embodiment can be implemented in multi-beam base station.

Multi-cell coordination system and channel calibration method thereof

A multi-antenna system includes: a server; a first antenna group, provided on a base station and including multiple first antennas including a first representative antenna and a first non-representative antenna, the base station performing intra-group channel estimation to obtain and transmit to the server multiple first inner channel estimation coefficients between the first representative antenna and the first non-representative antenna, and serving a user device; and a reference device, communicating with the server and the first antennas, performing channel estimation between the reference device and the first representative antenna to obtain and transmit to the server multiple first outer channel estimation coefficients between the reference device and the first representative antenna. The server calculates a precoding matrix according to the first inner and first outer channel estimation coefficients, and the base station performs data transmission with the user device according to the precoding matrix.

Multi-antenna system and channel calibration method thereof

A digital pre-distortion circuit and a digital pre-distortion method are provided. In the method, pre-distortion, digital-to-analog conversion and an amplifying process are performed on an input signal in sequence, to generate an output signal. A first bandwidth of the input signal after the pre-distortion is greater than a second bandwidth of the input signal after the digital-to-analog conversion. Signals outside the second bandwidth are filtered out from the output signal, to generate a second output signal. A third output signal, which is a signal after a pre-distorted signal is amplified, is estimated according to the pre-distorted signal and the second output signal. The pre-distorted signal is a signal after the pre-distortion is performed on the input signal. A third bandwidth of the third output signal is greater than the second bandwidth. Parameters of the pre-distortion can be determined according to the third output signal and the pre-distorted signal.

Digital pre-distortion circuit and digital pre-distortion method

The disclosure provides a transceiver of a communication system using hybrid beamforming and performing an antenna calibration method. In an exemplary embodiment in accordance with the disclosure, the transceiver may generate a plurality of scrambling sequences. The transceiver may comprise a plurality of coupling circuits to receive a feedback signal. The transceiver may use the plurality of scrambling sequences to recover the transmit signals output by the antenna elements from the feedback signal. Thus, the transmitter may perform antenna calibration for each antenna element.

The disclosure provides a transmitter of a communication system using hybrid digital/analog beamforming and configured to perform digital pre-distortion (DPD). In an exemplary embodiment in accordance with the disclosure, the transmitter may generate a plurality of scrambling sequences. A method and an apparatus for performing task-level cache management in an electronic device are provided. The method may be applied to a processing circuit of the electronic device, and may include: before a task of a plurality of tasks runs on a processor core, performing at least one checking operation on the task to generate at least one checking result, wherein the at least one checking result indicates whether the task is a risky task with risk of evicting cached data of an urgent task from a cache, and the cache is dedicated to a set of processor cores including the processor core; and according to the at least one checking result, determining whether to temporarily limit cache access permission of the processor core during a time period in which the task runs on the processor core, for preventing cache eviction of the cache due to the task.

Method and apparatus for performing task-level cache management in electronic device

A precoding method in a multi-antenna system includes the following steps. A reference device transmits a first reference signal to base station antennas. A base station calculates uplink channel information and transmits it to a coordination server. The base station transmits a second reference signal to the reference device. The reference device calculates downlink channel information and transmits it to the coordination server. The coordination server performs the following steps: calculate carrier frequency offsets (CFO) between base stations according to the uplink channel information; calculate channel calibration coefficients according to the CFO, the uplink channel information, and the downlink channel information; calculate a first downlink channel at a first time point according to a user equipment's first uplink channel and the channel calibration coefficients; use a prediction function to predict a second downlink channel at a second time point; generate a precoder according to the second downlink channel.

Multi-antenna system and precoding method thereof

Methods and apparatus are provided for adaptive optimization of low-power strategies. In one novel aspect, the device monitors one or more thermal-performance parameters and determines a plurality of operation scenarios for a plurality of corresponding low-power policies. Based on corresponding operation scenarios, the device selects corresponding low-power policy. The device applies different low-power strategy for temperature control based on low-power policies. Different low-power policy is applied to different low-power techniques, such as the DVFS, the CPU hot-plug, and the task migration. In another novel aspect, the device obtains one or more user-defined policy for each corresponding low-power technique. The selection of each low-power policy is further based on its corresponding user-defined policy. In one embodiment, the user-defined DVFS policy includes power policy, performance policy, and DVFS-balanced policy. The user-defined CPU hot-plug policy includes conservative policy, aggressive policy, and hot-plug-balanced policy. The user-defined task-migration policy includes performance policy, and task-migration-balanced policy.

Adaptive optimization of low power strategies

A method for operating an electronic device, and an electronic device, are provided. In the normal operation state of the electronic device, data which is stored in the main storage device of the electronic device is encrypted by a first encryption algorithm prior to being stored in a non-volatile storage device of the electronic device. The method includes the steps of generating snapshot data in the main storage device when the electronic device is entering a hibernation state, allocating space in the non-volatile storage device for storing the snapshot data, and storing the snapshot data in the space without encrypting the snapshot data using the first encryption algorithm.

A method for performing processor resource allocation in an electronic device is provided, where the method may include the steps of: obtaining task-related information to determine whether a task of a plurality of tasks is a heavy task (e.g. the heavy task may correspond to heavier loading than others of the plurality of tasks), to selectively utilize a specific processor core within a plurality of processor cores to perform the task, and determining whether at least one scenario task exists within others of the plurality of tasks, to selectively determine according to application requirements a minimum processor core count and a minimum operating frequency for performing the at least one scenario task; and performing processor resource allocation according to a power table and system loading, to perform any remaining portion of the plurality of tasks.
