A battery connector for connecting a battery to supply electrical power to an electrical apparatus incorporating the connector comprises a housing and a number of contacts fixedly mounted in the housing. Each contact has a substantially identical structure. The contacts are mounted in grooves defined in the housing having different depths, whereby tail portions of the contacts are spaced different distances from a front face of the housing for proximity to the battery. Thus, when the connector is mounted to a printed circuit board by extending the tail portions of the contacts into holes defined in the printed circuit board, the tail portions of the contacts which are located closer to the front face of the housing fixedly engage with front edges of the corresponding holes and the tail portions of the other contacts fixedly engage with rear edges of the other holes.

Electrical connector

A board-to-board connector comprises a female portion, a plurality of conductive contacts, a male portion, and interlocking means provided on the female portion and the male portion. Plate connectors, end walls, and positioning protrusions of the male portion are snugly received in parallel slots, lateral slots, and positioning recesses of the female portion, respectively. Plate connectors of the male portion abut the contacts received in the female portion and positioning protrusions of the male portion interlock with positioning recesses of the female portion thereby establishing and ensuring a consistent electrical connection within the connector.

A battery holder assembly including a holder, positive and negative terminals secured to and extending out the holder, and a battery accommodated by the holder. The battery holder assembly is to be directly plugged into a printed circuit board. The battery is inserted into the holder along a direction substantially parallel to electrode surfaces thereof. The two terminals each have a respective terminal portion extending substantially parallel to the electrode surfaces of the battery so that the battery holder assembly occupies only a small space of the printed circuit board.

An electrical connector having a number of electrical contact in which a contact portion of each contact extends diagonally forward to engage a received, mating contact. Each electrical contact has a first leg anchored in an insulative housing of the connector and a substantially free second leg flush with a wall of a cavity formed in the connector. The contact portion of the electrical contact has an angled end consisting of a narrow neck and a large sector, the large sector gradually enlarging toward a free end thereof. The substantially free second leg of the electrical contact is spring biased against the wall of the cavity only upon insertion of a mating contact into the cavity to achieve a smooth insertion of the mating contact into the cavity.

Electrical connector with improved electrical contacts

A method of interconnecting a data access device to a main board for notebook computers without requiring a flexible printed circuit assembly and a connector module. The method involves interconnecting a simple circuit board between a connector interfacing the data access device and a connector interfacing the main board. The circuit board serves to convert the number of contacts of one of the two connectors to be in electrical and mechanical conformity with the number of pins of the other connector. The connector module employs the circuit board which is adapted to be directly interconnected between the first and second connectors.

Method of selectable connecting different date access device to the same

An electrical connector comprises an insulative housing having a bottom plate defining a longitudinal direction, two longitudinal side walls extending upward from the bottom plate, four channels each defined through an upper edge of the side walls, and pick-up means having a main body defining a smooth upper surface and four downward extending resilient legs for retaining in said channels of the housing. The channels of the housing can be provided on the bottom plate of the housing rather than in the side walls thereof.

Pick-up device for an electrical connector and electrical connector

A connector equipped with auxiliary solder tabs which are self-adjustable as to height for ensuring coplanarity between solder terminals of the connector and the auxiliary solder tabs. The self-adjustability of the tabs ensures that the tabs will always properly contact a circuit board to which the connector is to be connected, independent of the plane defined by the solder terminal. The connector has at least one extension wall and various embodiments are proposed to achieve a pivotable relationship between the solder tab and the extension wall(s).
