The disclosure provides method for configuring transmission configuration indicator (TCI) states for user equipment (UE) and UE. In the embodiments of the disclosure, the details about how to exactly use the TCI-based structure for indicating a common beam for various purposes (e.g., both DL/UL, UL (only) or DL (only)) have been introduced. In addition, the embodiments of the disclosure have proposed the exact behavior of switching different TCI state for different purpose as well. Accordingly, efficient beam indication for both DL/UL transmission, UL only transmission, and DL only transmission can be facilitated, and the procedure(s) related to seamlessly switching among different beam indication signaling are also specified.

Method and user equipment for beam indication for uplink transmission

Some present implementations provide a method for indicating multiple spatial relations for uplink (UL) transmissions by a user equipment (UE). The method may receive a first configuration for configuring one or more physical uplink control channel (PUCCH) resources. The method may further receive a second configuration for configuring a plurality of spatial relations. The method may also receive a signal that indicates at least one of a first mode or a second mode. The method may further receive downlink control information (DCI) indicating a PUCCH resource from the one or more PUCCH resources, where first and second spatial relations are activated for the PUCCH resource. The method may derive a plurality of PUCCH transmission occasions associated with the indicated PUCCH resource. A same uplink control information (UCI) content may be transmitted on each of the plurality of PUCCH transmission occasions by applying the spatial relations based on the indicated mode.

Method and apparatus for user equipment (UE) monitoring behavior for beam recovery in a wireless communication system

A method and apparatus are disclosed from the perspective of a User Equipment (UE). In one embodiment, the method includes the UE being configured with a first DL (Downlink) BWP (Bandwidth Part) and a second DL BWP. The method also includes the UE receiving and/or monitoring a DCI (Downlink Control Information) in a scheduling CORESET (Control Resource Set) in the first DL BWP, and for determining size of the DCI for decoding, the UE determines whether a TCI (Transmission Configuration Indication) field is present in the DCI or not based on a parameter of the scheduling CORESET before the UE decodes the DCI successfully. The method further includes the UE truncates or pads zero-bits to at least one field (other than the TCI field) in the DCI based on configuration of the second DL BWP after the UE decodes successfully the DCI, wherein a BWP indicator field in the DCI indicates the second DL BWP different from the first DL BWP. In addition, the method includes the UE determines whether the TCI field is present in the DCI or not based on the parameter of the scheduling CORESET in the first DL BWP after the UE decodes successfully the DCI, wherein a BWP indicator field in the DCI indicates the second DL BWP different from the first DL BWP.

Method and apparatus for downlink control information (DCI) content processing considering active downlink (DL) bandwidth part (BWP) change in a wireless communication system

A method and apparatus are disclosed from the perspective of a network. In one embodiment, the method includes the network configuring a DL (Downlink) BWP (Bandwidth Part) and an UL (Uplink) BWP in a first serving cell to a UE (User Equipment). The method also includes the network configuring a paired spectrum operation in the first serving cell to the UE. The method further includes the network transmitting a first DCI (Downlink Control Information) to the UE, wherein the first DCI comprises a slot format combination indicating one or more slot format values for the DL BWP and one or more slot format values for the UL BWP. In addition, the method includes the network prevents from setting an amount of slot format values in the slot format combination in the first DCI to be not divided by a first number, wherein the first number is associated with an absolute value of a difference of a first SCS (Subcarrier Spacing) configuration and a second SCS configuration.
