A plasma display panel includes first and second substrates having a predetermined gap therebetween. Barriers are disposed between the first and second substrates to partition discharge cells and fluorescent layers are formed in the discharge cells. Address electrodes corresponding to the discharge cells extend in a first direction, and pairs of first and second electrodes extend in a second direction to cross the first direction. The address electrodes are on one of the substrates to correspond to the discharge cells. A dielectric layer covers the first and second electrodes, wherein the dielectric layer is colored with a first color, the barriers are colored with a second color having a subtractive mixture relation with the first color, and wherein the fluorescent layers include first fluorescent layers on the barriers and the discharge cells, and second fluorescent layers on the first fluorescent layers in the second color.

Plasma display panel

A plasma display panel comprising a first panel having a plurality of discharge sustaining electrode pairs, and a second panel having a plurality of address electrodes and facing the first panel. A discharge sustaining electrode pair includes a scan electrode and a sustain electrode having discharge surfaces facing each other, and the scan electrode is closer to the address electrode than the sustain electrode. The plasma display panel requires a reduced address voltage and discharge voltage.

A plasma display panel with an improved sustain electrode structure and capable of enhancing optical efficiency includes: a rear substrate; address electrodes arranged in a predetermined pattern on the rear substrate; a lower dielectric layer arranged to cover the address electrodes; barrier ribs arranged on the lower dielectric layer; phosphors arranged to be applied to internal sections of discharge cells defined by the barrier ribs; a front substrate arranged opposite the rear substrate; sustain electrodes including bus electrodes arranged in a predetermined pattern and transparent electrodes having relatively wider widths than that of the bus electrodes and arranged to extend toward the internal sections of the discharge cells from the bus electrodes, the transparent electrodes including lead-in parts each having a width equal to 0.5 to 1.5 times a thickness of a corresponding barrier rib, the sustain electrodes intersecting with the address electrodes on a lower surface of the front substrate; and an upper dielectric layer arranged to cover the sustain electrodes.

A plasma display panel (PDP) includes a first substrate and a second substrate opposing one another with a predetermined gap therebetween. The first substrate and the second substrate are substantially rectangular in shape with long side edges and short side edges, and are interconnected by frit deposited between the first substrate and the second substrate. The substrates have a predetermined discharge region and predetermined non-discharge regions that surround the discharge region. The PDP also includes barrier ribs mounted between the first substrate and the second substrate. The barrier ribs are mounted at least partly on the discharge region, and at least partly on the non-discharge regions that are adjacent to the long side edges of the substrates.
